Apparently this method worked for another "asker" - it's worth a try.
Restore the program, Paint (after accidentally deleting)
source: a Yahoo answerer
Go to your Control Panel,
Add or Remove Programs,
Add or Remove Windows Components,
Select Accessories and Utilities,
Acessories,
Select Calculator and paint and whatever else you need.
On running it will ask for your Windows CD.

Very simple...it is in the add/remove programs only...but hidden under a different category. try these steps:
You require the Windows CD-ROM to reinstall the Windows components such as Paint
a) Click Add/Remove Programs applet, Add/Remove Windows Components
b) Double-click Accessories and Utilities
c) Double-click Accessories
d) Check Paint and click OK, OK.
e) Click Next.
f) Windows will now reinstall Paint

I think that you will need the CD in order to get it back, or you could try to use the System Restore, under Start, All Programs, Accessories, System tools, System Restore. Do the restore for the day before you took it off, that may bring it back. Also try clicking on Start, Run and type in mspaint.exe and see if it comes up first. It is stored in the system32 file, if it is there. You may not have really removed it at all. Look in that file, and see if you have the .exe file and restore it to your desktop.

Look for mspaint.exe under C:\windows\system32 or c:\windows. If it is not on either, you will need to use the Windows CD to re-install the "Accessories". Go to Add/Remove programs, Windows Components, and uncheck accessories. Once that is done, do the same but check accessories.

You could always just:
go to the start menu
click run
and type in "mspaint"
then ok
You won't have an icon, but you can always just do that.
That's what I do.

Look in the recycling bin. You didn't mention that, so...?
If not, you can probably install it again with the software, you'll just have ot buy it somewhere.
