Chances are very good that the fuse has blown. Look in the owners manual and see which fuse it is, and then on the fuse cover there should be another spare fuse and a tool to help you pull the old out..
If you have damaged the lighter receptacle, then when you put in another fuse it will also blow. If this happens then you can go to either the dealer, a salvage yard, or an auto parts store and purchase another one and replace it.

Check your fuses.
If its good you can replace the outlet very easily. They have them at Walmart, auto parts stores, virtually anywhere you can buy motor oil will have them.
All you have to do at that point is replace it. Depending on the car you'll either have to remove the cig lighter assembly and do it, or remove a piece of your console. Either way its just removing some screws then hooking the new one up just like the old one was.

it is the fuse that is burnt out. check the manual for location. some auto types call them power outlets now.
