im not sure what type of tumor it is but my Girlfriend has been diagnosed with a tumor on her brain stem and spine shes 18 so does that mean she has a good chance of a speedy recovery after her surgery..I just want her to be healthy again thanks

Check if there is any other problem in the head/neck region.
- Effects of high interaocular pressure.
- Sees a large number of floaters in the eye
- Sore throat first thing in the morning but goes away during the day.

The only one who could really answer that is a neurologist.
Get at least two opinions from two separate hospitals who specialize in brain tumors.

My best advise is to arm yourself with all applicable information--type of tumor, exact location, treatment options, etc.
Dr. Shahinian at Cedars Sinai Medical Center is a true guru for skull base tumors.

There aren't many surgeons who will work on this area. Make sure you get somone with experience.
Skull base is the name for the brain stem area.
