She loves to drink wine, so I wanted to get her a really good wine for christmas...I am willing to spend up to $100. She likes all kinds of white wine but she doesn't like red wine at all. She also doesn't like sweet wines.

Chassagne Montrachet 2005, Corton Charlemagne 2005 both from the Burgundy region of France, excellent Chardonnays. The first prices out at about $50 and is excellent value, the second is more WOW value at about $100, but your mom really would have to be a true aficionado to appreciate the subtle differences. Hope this helps.

If you have a good wine store near you, or a liquor store with a good wine selection, then go there. Ask for the clerk with the best wine knowledge and have him/her make a recommendation. There can be differences between the same brand, make, etc., just due to year, and the clerk should be able to tell you that.

You should be able to come up with a very good selection for the amount of money you have to spend. Maybe pick an American wine, add a bottle of something Italian and maybe add something French.

Chalk Hill Chardonnay, a first rate white, very rich and buttery, about $36 a bottle, depending on where you get it.
