Time can't be created 'second' can it? Second implies it happened 'after' first, and if time doesn't exist, there is no before and after.

Time is a human concept. We are conscious of time passing because we recognize that something has happened (and is past) and something will happen later. Our heartbeats remind us that tiny amounts of time are passing. In the creation account, the narrator presents it from the human viewpoint, dividing the stages of creation into "days", and referring to the creation of heavenly bodies that mark the passing of lengths of time for us. It is a tricky issue, when we try to wrap our finite minds around an infinite universe. I suppose I could say that when the human mind was created, time began. It's a "if a tree fell in the forest and no one was there, would it make a noise?" situation.

In the beginning -- the beginning of what? The obvious answer must be time because the only thing that exists outside of the framework of time is eternity.

doesn't mention Time because the ancients who wrote the tome didn't consider it a separate *thing*
it doesn't mention when Sound was created either, but it must have been before "Let there be light"

I think time is a human invention as no other being on earth cares about it but lives in the moment.
