I mean if eye specialists told you that you were going to lose your sight. This is not about doctors vs. prayer.

This is a hypothetical question only.

PRAY that God heals your eyes and that if He should not heal that he help you can accept, adjust and live fully with your blindness. Of course, God helps those who help themselves, so be sure to get second opinions and do follow what the doctors AND your prayer tells you to do.

You would best be served by not wasting time to a god that obviously does not bother with answering prayers. If you doubt this, think about how many people prayed to be saved from flood, famine and disease.

As for praying to god for anyting - it is a waste of time. Better you prepare for this tragic event while you have the sight to make the adjustments. Use your remaining time to good advantage and not waste time on a mythincal god that can't help you anyway.

No one would wish this misfortune on you, not for any reason. All those reading your plaight will feel the sadness of this situation and want to do all possible to help. In the end, you must win through on your own personal inner strength. I might add - The Lord helps those who help themselves.

Be strong, accept the inevitable and hope for the best. Maybe things will not be as bad as anticipated at this time. My heart bleeds for you for I fear this same event. But int he end it is all up to you, not some god, to be strong and find the way to accommodate.

I would pray to Gods/God, still am not sure, the Universe, to heal my eyes, of course. I am not a masochist!

Yeah, if this was not a hypothetical question, then I wanted to add that if you still have a brain, then there are ways now days to see, again! If u need i can let u know the methods.

This is actually happening to my FIL. He is a Christian. I don't know what he is praying for but I get the sense he has not accepted the reality of it. Almost all of his peripheral vision is gone and he refuses to learn to use a cane. As a result he is ALWAYS running into people in stores and tripping over things and kids. He makes it everyone elses problem but his. Aside from a miracle he has no hope for recovery. I can only guess that he is praying for God to get everyone and everything out of his path.

I would talk to and give my money to a really good eye specialist... kind of the atheist equivalent of prayer and tithe.

Edit: Nah... no prayer for me, If all the good docs told me I was going to go blind, I'd look to alternative forms of medicine such as acupuncture or herbals... then I'd probably go to counseling to have someone help me accept the inevitable...

First I'd see a doctor, then I'd pray to God to heal my eyes, but if that was not his/her will, then to please give me the courage, guidance and strength to learn to live with the blindness.

pray for healing and receive your healing at the same time because if it is Gods will he will give it to us but at the same time we must keep our faith strong that we have received healing

No, because if he won't heal amputees, I very much doubt he would heal my blindness.
