If you teach your children wrong things they will suffer for it.

It's like this. Say your father was an abusive alcoholic. Odds are that your family life would be miserable and that you would grow up to be a dysfunctional adult. It doesn't mean that the sins of their fathers will be counted against them personally. It means that the sins of their fathers will leave a miserable legacy for their children.

If a teacher in school taught you that 2+2=5, or that the sky was green, and you took a standardized test, you would fail those questions. The truth IS available to you and you obviously have heard it. Now if you CHOOSE to ignore the truth, whose fault is it when you fail?

You will not be punished for His mistakes.
His offenses toward another may affect you, if the other party is unforgiving and seeks revenge or payment through you.

God is not unforgiving.
He sent His son as your ransom, for your offenses.
To Him you are accountable only for your own decisions.
If your beliefs are like your fathers, that is your own decison.

The truth will set you free.
