You can assure us all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that there are many inconsistencies within the Bible. Not only with external fact (rabbits chewing cud, bats being birds, insects having four legs, the Earth never moving, an empire-wide census that required everyone to stop working and travel to their ancestral homeland), but it also contains internal contradictions as well.

An analysis of the 5,400 manuscripts and fragments of manuscripts of the New Testament show just how many changes have been made to the text since they were first written in the First Century.

Knowing all this, some Christians are still able to maintain their faith in the essential Truth of the Bible. There are some who, believing in the Bible as literal fact found their belief unsustainable after that knowledge. There are some who refuse to look at the facts lest it undermine their belief.

I expect that there would be more out there who could accept the Bible as an inspiration work if it weren't for the loud ones who insist that the inconsistencies do not exist.

Tell you what, take the Resurrection narratives and write them out side by side. If you are careful, you will find 46 contradictions, which if anyone of them are true, force others to be false. Hence some books must be false. As a starter, who arrived at the tomb first. Assume for a moment each book is strictly true. Christians have attempted to smooth over these contradictions but really they are contradictory statements. If some books are false, how do you choose, if the books are not true but close witness observations that have errors in them, then how do you trust any of it?

This isn't the only place. It is easy to find websites with hundreds of errors in them, some logical, some factual and some physical impossibilities where the consequence of the miracle should even be apparent today, but is not.

For the unsaved, their eyes have been blinded by the god of this world.
For the saved, they have listened to the faulty arguments of those inside the church which casts doubt.

All arguments against the accuracy and integrity of the Bible begin with the idea that an Almighty God was incapable of preserving His word and their meaning for a mere few thousand years.
How faithless...Almighty God, being ...incapable?

I don't reject the Bible, only the idiots who think that every word in it can be taken as literally true.

1 Cor 1:18 describes it very well. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. The Bible is a spiritual book it for spiritual people. If your spirit has not been reborn then it makes no sense and you will hate it and bash it because people living in darkness hate the light.

Hello Mia,

Jesus explained like this:

Matthew 13:18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. 19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

(When any one hears the word of the kingdom and doesn’t understand then along comes the wicked one and takes away what was sown in his heart)

God is written in the hearts of every one...they choose not to accept him.

It’s sad really, so many refuse to hear, they are too smart for the “fairy tale”…but Satan is smarter then they are. They are giving up their inheritance. Satan was smart enough to convince a legion of angels to follow him. Even they knew they had made a mistake, according to the book of Enoch they asked Enoch to ask God to forgive them…God loved Enoch and the angels knew it…God said no. We are lucky in that God has given man much mercy and we have a freely given gift in his son. This gift won’t always be free.

God bless you,
Faith

So rabbits chew their cud? And the mustard seed is the smallest seed of all?

Why is there no evidence of hundreds of thousands of people wandering around the Sinai for 40 years? Or of the Massacre of Innocents?
