Here in New England it's a grinder. I don't know what my local grinder shop would say if I asked for an Italin Hoagie! Some would be sure to get a large coffee milk to wash ot down. Wicked good!

I'm from the midwest, and I've always called them subs. To me, the bread is the hoagie that you put all the goodies in, then the finished product turns into a sub.
