I'm a mother of three children that I have watched grow via ultrasound since I first found out I was pregnant.

You know that it is murder. We all know that it is murder.

My baby started putting her whole fist in her mouth since she could move. She is still the same way. Babies are just .... who they are from way before the abortion cut off time.

I only know a few people that have had abortions. They regret it and have to live with the emotional and physical disaster that follows. The baby is with God. The mom who committed murder has to live with what she did.

I think the debate could be moved forward toward resolution much more peaceably than it has been thus far if anti-abortions zealots would simply admit that 1., sometimes abortion is necessary, and not always the *worst* thing that could happen to a fetus, and pro-choice advocates would admit that it's not an *easy* or *guiltless* choice, but rather, an emotionally wrenching one.

My own traditions do not hold individual human life in quite the same regard as xianity's (my ancestors considered the life of a newborn child subject to the judgement of the father and the needs of the tribe), so I have no moral or religious objections myself. However, we DO value personality responsibility and common sense, so I tend to take a dim view of invasive medical procedures being used as a risky substitute for planning ahead . . . or personal restraint.

Every abortion kills a living human being. This is not an opinion, but a simple biological fact. By the time most women know they are pregnant (just 3 weeks after conception), their baby's heart is already beating. By 6 weeks, the baby has tiny fingers and recordable brain waves.

I have not aborted a baby, but these women have:

http://www.teenbreaks.com/abortion/girlswhoaborted.cfm

Please read their stories, and please don't do something you'll regret the rest of your life. If someone is pressuring you to abort, remember that YOU will be the one who has to live with it for the rest of your life. You will never be able to bring your baby back.

No one can make you abort your baby. Forced abortions are illegal in the United States. You have the right and the responsibility to keep yourself and your baby safe. If you need help or a safe place to stay, please go to a crisis pregnancy center as soon as possible. You can find one near you by calling 1-800-395-HELP or visiting:

Please keep in mind that people who make money from abortions are NOT likely to give you reliable information and may also pressure you to abort. Please don't put yourself in a situation where you are likely to be pressured. Surround yourself by people who support you, if you can, but regardless, be strong, and keep yourself and your baby safe!

One more note--there is a good deal of evidence that unborn children do feel pain, even during the first trimester:

“From six weeks the baby has sensation around its face and mouth. At seven weeks the baby can feel a needle stick and draw back. Even at that time if you put a little probe or instrument in the baby's hand it will curl up its hand around it, so it feels things."
~Dr. Beverly McMillan, OB/GYN, “The Abortion Procedure: Questions and Answers,” PhysiciansforLife.org.

“Try sticking an infant with a pin and you know what happens. She opens her mouth to cry and also pulls away. Try sticking an eight-week-old human fetus in the palm of his hand. He opens his mouth and pulls his hand away. A more technical description would add that changes in heart rate and fetal movement also suggest that intrauterine manipulations are painful to the fetus.”
~J.C. Willke, MD and B.H. Willke, RN, “Fetal Pain,” Abortion: Questions and Answers, Hayes Publishing Company, 2003, p. 102. (Citing Volman & Pearson, “What the Fetus Feels,” British Medical Journal, 26 January 1980, pp. 233-234.)

If any doubt remains that the unborn suffer pain during abortion, one need only watch The Silent Scream, a documentary narrated by Dr. Bernard Nathanson, a former abortionist. For the film, an actual first-trimester abortion was recorded via ultrasound. The 11-week-old unborn baby can be seen frantically dodging the suction instrument again and again, while her heartbeat increases from 140 to 200 beats per minute. When she is finally caught and dismembered, her mouth clearly opens wide in a “silent scream.” The video can be viewed online at www.silentscream.org.

Biologically speaking, human life is a continuum from fertilization until death. The way I see it, abortion is the ending of a human life. However, I realize that other people don't see it this way, and I would never judge someone who had an abortion, because I would assume they believed they were doing the right thing. Myself, I never would have one.

no one likes abortion. girls don't go out, get pregnant, and say "yippie! abortion time!" it's a difficult decision, possibly one of the most.
i think it should be legal up to week 22 because that's the earliest a baby can survive outside of the womb. until it's able to be biologically independent, i won't consider a foetus a human.
if you disagree with abortion so much, then you just shouldn't get one. simple as that.

to ALLEN G: by that reasoning, than every time you eat a salad you're a murderer. every time you take medicine when you're sick, you'll be removing the bacteria/parasites from the safety of your body, murderer.

A human life is a human life two seconds after conception.
Abortion is the termination of a human life; what else would it be? - how does any person come to be born, be a child, be an adult without going through the first developmental stages?
That life never becomes the newborn, the child, the adult, because it was aborted - it is the taking of a human life.
How it has come to this is so troubling and tragic... it is blindness and selfishness alone that have made abortion common and accepted.
You and I are here because our mothers valued our lives at least enough to allow our life... and with any humanity much more.

Many hypocrites are on the abortion band wagon. The death toll from religion violence is a hundred times worse than that from abortion. I'm not condoning either one but, something is wrong with this picture.

Everyone must make their own choice on this matter. I am a man and i would never try and tell a woman that they could or could not have an abortion. This is something that every woman should be able to choose to do or not to do.

To start, if a man could have an abortion, it would be legal and federally funded. Men, I'm sorry but you shouldn't have a say in what a woman does with her body. I don't think it should be used as a form of birth control, but it should be her right to decide and everyone else should mind their own business.
