most relationships start off casual and just a bit of flirting and stuff when you enjoy each others company, I think when people start to develop feelings and get to know the other person really well after a few dates you can say you're ready to be in a relationship. You can be going out as soon as he asks you on a date but a relationship is dating and with feelings. It shouldnt matter when you make it official, youre still relatively new in your relationship. Just have fun right now and dont worry, he sounds like a nice guy.

Yes, it is confusing...
I grew up with the mistaken impression that going out with someone meant that you were going out on some kind of formal date like dinner or a movie or going together to a shcool or church or community dance, or something.
But, I was wrong.
Going out includes the very first time that you ever walked home from school with someone and got that tingly feeling because of being so near to someone so dear to you.
First kisses don't actually occur until the two of you have been 'going out' whether it occurs the very first time you go out or the first time you actually go out to dinner and a movie after walking home with each other a few times for a while.
I get a kick out of the answer you say he gave you. In other words, he doesn't care what you think about it, he thinks of you as his dealy beloved sweetheart.
Regardless of what the rules might appear to be about dating and going together or going out, it's whether or not you're dear sweethearts that matters, not all the rest.
All the rest are simply rules to help you keep in mind that it is VERY possible to wind up in some kind of emotional pitfall.
So, keep on asking these kinds of questions: they're important.

We have no idea. We just look at each other when people ask us that and go,. "umm.. like? 2 years?" lol! but I would say it was after our first kiss. February 27th, 2006 or something. Cuz that was pretty much the beginning of the excitement. I met my bf online and had to sneak out to meet him (I was 16, he was 20). 2 years later, thinking about the first times we had STILL give me shivers!!!! Like when we were in my room and we shared the emotional eye contact that led to that first kiss... AWWWWW!!!!!!!!!

when they pass you that piece of paper in class that has, "will you go out with me?", on it and you mark "yes" and pass it back.
