U should go to the Dr ASAP. If U get an infection in a finger it is extremely painful because the swelling has no where to go and it can be difficult to treat.

I experienced this same problem and ended up getting antibiotics every day for a month and in the course of treatment it required removal of the fingernail and "packing" of the wound that developed from the infection.

Don't wait, go now!
