Both countries have claimed to be our allies on the war on terror. Yet the U.S. government would lead us to believe that most of the foreign insurgents are from Iran. Why is this?

I left out the word Iraq, although most of you can figure which country I was refering to.

The Salafist Jihadists come from a lot of countries in the Islamic Crescent and South Asia as well. In coming to Iraq they are performing "Hijrah" (voluntary expatriation for the purpose of conducting Jihad).
It's not the government of the U.S. which said most of these terrorists are coming from Iran. What our government has said is that Iran and the Kuds Brigade of that nation are supplying the Salafist Jihadists with weapons and training.

You are not stupid.....Instead of succuming to your emotional political bias....THINK..... when the majority of the bad guys can not be identified......when you can walk by the enemy on a Bagdhad street and never know it.....HOW CAN ANYONE KNOW WHAT PERCENT OF THE BAD GUYS COME FROM ANY PARTICULAR COUNTRY???...... but lets say these STUPID reports are correct......all terrorists come from "someplace" .....some of the terrorist came from America......do we attack ourselves?

The military is very careful ......they NEVER said "most" of the terrorists are from Iran......they reported the FACTS......we have killed and captured many Iranians terrorist / advisors in Iraq......the government of Iran is buying and manufacturing weapons and then smuggling them into Iraq..... FACTS

The governments of Lybia and Saudi Arabia.......at great risk.....support America........ Iran has never even pretended to be neutral......openly support anti-American terrorism

This would prove that Americas occupation of IRAQ is only fueling a terrorist campaign against us.

Why republicans dont see that is either
they dont care or
they really dont care

Anyone can see with the rise of an Al queda in IRaq....and how Bush an Chenney have tried tolink them together, INSPITE of reports and intel proving otherwise, that this is somethign they dont really consider in their overall gameplan on Iraq.

And it shouldnt surprise anyone.

We went into Iraq falsely. and republicans have the country more focused on the now...and forgetting the Why

We went in with too few troops to begin with
but repubs have drawn focus off that..and brought the argeument to lets focus on what to do from her

This year is the deadliest year in the war..
yet repubs are trying o focus on how much progress one or even 2 months is changing a new direction.

Nothing changes accept the arguemebnts the republicans offer tobuy more time..until bush gets out of office.

Saudi has always had an Anti-US section in its population,a lot of the older desert tribes are embracing fundamentalism and are against the Saudi Royal family.

Also remember that Osama Bin Ladin has Saudi connections!!

The fact is U.S. has been using Iranians, Libyanens to figth against Insurgents from Iraq but I do not agree with the percentage.
The reason the using both Countries help do to they know the language and behavior of the insurgents.
I have no doubt that's an hidden agenda but is not to me to discussed on public.

The governments of those countries do not controll the actions of all of their people.

And the US tells us the weapons used by those fighters come from Iran not the fighters themselves.
