look on the good side, at least you owned up and your not afraid to face what you did....you didn't hurt anyone. you were just a silly sod. no way would they send you down for that. and no way would you (by any stretch of the imagination) deserve to go down for that. be proud of your self for being possitive about the situation. its good to see some one with a bit of honesty and some balls. personaly i wish you all the luck in the world.

In the UK this would be dealt with at the magistrates court (as long as it's a first and only offence) If you you wish to plead guilty, do not be pressured by a solicitor to do otherwise, the magistrates will look more kindly on you if you plead guilty at the earliest opportunity, offer mitigation and show remorse, which seems to be what you are doing here. I doubt that in the UK you would be given a custodial sentence. However this could be reported in the local paper, so I would suggest that you sit down and have a chat with your family members, they may be able to offer you more support than you imagine right now!
Good luck!

probably not, it is your first offence and you owned up. Also the jails are to packed as it is and you have to do something pretty serious to get sent down these days. I think that you should have pleaded guilty and explained why you did it ,because you did do it ,even though you were in a bad state of mind.

I am not familiar with British Law, however from your story, it is unlikely you will do jail time. Get your lawyer to take a plea on a lesser charge, agree to pay the money back over time. You're going to be OK. 6 months from now it will be past history. Hang in there. Keep up with your health and doing what is necessary to treat your depression. I see good things in your future. You have identified your issues and are owning up to them. Someday, you may want to take your family into confidence. You may be surprised how supportive they can be.

i don't think anyone can really answer that, it will all depend on if the jury believes you or has sympathy for your case. and how good your lawyer is. i don't think it would hurt to tell someone that you are close to, you could probably use the support from someone you love.i know you are ashamed of it, but they are your family and love you and will accept you for who you are including your mistakes. trying to hide it will only make it worse, what if you do get a jail sentence, then they will know, and worse, they will know that you kept it from them, that may hurt them worse than the actual crime. i would suggest you go to them and explain the mistake you made, tell them you realize you messed up and learned your lesson and will never do it again, but now you have the consequences to deal with and you need them to stand by your side at such a difficult time in your life. pray on this whole situation, god comes through for his children, and if you have to serve some time, then there is a reason for it and just know that god wants you there for a reason and you will understand that reason eventually, but it's always a good thing to have god on your side, and i will pray for you too, that god will give you strength and wisdom and guidance, and he will put your heart at ease. god bless you.

it all depends whether this was the first time that you did it .but i won't blame them if they do press charges just to scare you.have you lost you're job yet. because something this small can get bigger if they don't take action. it could get even more serious with you.if i were you i would say that you should inform you're family as they will be able to help you . if not you stand a chance of going through this alone which is not going to be easy. you should have thought what the consequences should have been before you did this stupid act.

Your lawyer is banking on either a not guilty or a plea of mitigation. if he is advising not guilty he must think the evidence is thin, i hope you have told him the full story. I think you should tell your family ASAP they will not be pleased but i think you will need and have their support

you wish you were going to jail if youd stole of me ,,, you get no sympathy from this end , why are you blaming deppresion and self harm on your pathetic behaviour off stealing , millions of people with depression nd traits of selfharm etc even suicide, but they dont go round stealing thinkin theyll get of with it because of what ever..be a man face the truth before you do go to jail, youll probs get suspended sentance, probation for a year somthing of the sort or a fine ,but get to the docs nd get yourself on your feet, at least try .and tell your family whats happend and they will SUPPORT you, being honest with yourself will gain you respect.

i don;t think you will go to prison ......most likely get a fine and community work. you have already owned up to it so it will look better if you plead guilty, as your soliciltor not advised you with your plea?
