I'm not sure, but our freezer has a light. Must just be certain brands or models.

A light in the freezer would get obscured by frost.

my freezer has a light not very bright but it has one

I have a frigidaire and that has a light in it. Its a side by side. I don't know if the upper and lower ones have a light, I don't think they do.
