Jesus replied, "I assure you, unless you are born again, you can never see the Kingdom of God. ... The truth is, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven.
To be born again does not mean that one is superior to others or a better Christian. Being 'born again' is a transformation that takes place in your heart after you have received the Holy Spirit. "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead," (Romans 10:9) you are born again. You become a child of God because you receive his Holy Spirit, which comes from God and from God alone. Because of this drastic change, it is a whole new birth. You don't have to 'hit bottom' or join 'Christians Anonymous' (but one usually goes to church, if that's comparable), or are more of a Christian than before. You simply become a Christian where beforehand you were not.

Read John 3 in the New Testament. Jesus said, "Unless a man is born again, he cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven". To me the term "Born again Christian" is redundant. You CANNOT be a Christian without being born again, and if you are born again, you are definitely a Christian. We are born the first time naturally. We are born the second time spiritually. Unless a man is born of water (natural child birth) and the spirit (born again) he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven.

Being "born again" means to be born of the Spirit. When a Christian asks Jesus to forgive them and be part of their life, they are born again into God's Spirit.
I am a born again Christian and, FYI, I was never a drug addict or alcoholic. Nor was any Christian I know. So for those of you who think all born again Christians were at one time some sort of addict, you are dead wrong.
You need to talk with more Christians. *wink*
Merry Christmas!

Like several here have already said, people who experience the lowest of life situations often make this transition...usually those that become imprisoned or cannot shake the problems associated with self imposed nasty habits, and so on.
I have also observed a certain breed of person that turns to religion to remain in denial about the problems they bring upon themselves...they choose this path because their egos are too messed up to admit their own faults...they believe that God assures them that it's the rest of the world, not themselves, that are to blame. these aquaintences haven't improved one bit. they've worsened, cause now they preach and are more arrogant than ever, now that they have become a so-called "child of god"..... born-again christians are the worst! They even believe that they can restore a man and a woman's virginity!

"Born again" redirects here. For other uses, see Born again (disambiguation).
In Christianity, the term born again or regenerated is synonymous with spiritual rebirth — salvation. The term is most frequently used by the Evangelical, Fundamentalist, Pentecostal, and some Mainline branches of Protestant Christianity. It is sometimes associated with non-denominational individuals, groups and/or churches.[1]

Being "born again" is confessing to God that you are a sinner, asking God to forgive you of your sins, and by faith believe that Jesus died for your sins and that there is no other way to God and eternal life except through Jesus. When you have done this, you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you become a "Christian" and thus, born again.
If you haven't already, will you trust in Christ today?

The passage in the Bible referring to being "born again" is in reference to the same group that Jesus Christ referred to as the "little flock", namely the small group of faithful Christians (appointed by God) to be granted life in heaven alongside Jesus and serve as kings and priests. It is not up to any single person to label themselves as "born again" simply because they say they've accepted Christ. To be granted life in heaven is a gift that God gives to people. The Bible shows that the vast majority of faithful mankind will be enjoying eternal life here on the earth.

These are people who are focusing on the Bible teachings. They are not believing in statue of Jesus that is crucified. They are not believing that Mother Mary saves. They are just believing what the Bible says.

It means someone who is filled with the Holy Spirit. Research about the original John Edwards from the Awakening or Enlightenment, I think. Not the one who's running for president.
