No, not me! I'm older. This guy wants to date me but he dated this kid and I think it has "put me off him" big time. I have a daughter 14 and it scares me.

I just wanted to see if people thought I was over reacting.

I would say that 19 and 35 is a very big difference, and in most cases, too big. its as simple as the fact that you are in different stages in your lives. he probably wants to get married and have kids now, while you still have tons of time to live your life and have some great expiriences. try to find a guy a little closer to your own age (under 30, atleast)

It's a bit unconventional, especially in American culture. We kind of have more of that "equal partners" approach to marriage. Whereas in other cultures a marriage is more for making babies, and an older successfull man dating a younger woman is not frowned upon as much.
What was he looking for with this girl? Was he serious or did he just want to....you know?
The bottom line is how you feel when you're with this guy. Are you having fun? Does he make you feel good? Does it feel right? Trust your feelings. Your nose can sniff out a sleezy guy pretty quickly. By the same token, if this really bothers you then don't date him. There's nothing special about this guy that you couldn't find in some other guy somewhere.

Just because a man lives with his parents it doesn't mean there's something wrong with him. There could be any reason why he's living with them.
Both the 35 year old and 19 year old are adults and can see each other if they want.

Not that big of a deal. Older men date younger women all of the time. Both were age of consent, so who cares?

My grandfather was 17 years older than my grandmother, who was married at 13. They had one of the strongest and happiest marriages I have ever seen, before they passed on. And she preceded him in death by the way.

Nothing should hold you back from this relationship, so stop thinking you will look too old and go for it.

Thats not even cool. The man is way too old and i think if the girl would wait then maybe she would find someone her own age because she still is young and it is always new things we need to learn. She should just give guys around her age a chance.

I think that he is too old to be dating a 19 year old. Maybe if she was at least 21 (and that's still pushing it)...25.
How would he feel if he had a 19 year old dating a 35 year old. I'm sure that he wouldn't like it.

One Charles Windsor aged 35, married one Diana Spencer aged 19, and the nation applauded in their millions... the incompatibility only surfaced years later.

The last time I dated a 19 year old was when I was er... 19... and we married the same year
