The way the large corporate news media does it is very simple. The reporter moves into a hotel room in the green zone and hangs around in the bar.

He buys video from Iraqi 'stringers' and narrates scripts written in New York and emailed to him.

There are a few real reporters in Iraq (people who go out and observe events themselves) but unless you know where to look you will never hear from them.

Below is a link for one of the very few real reporters in Iraq.

The military should look after themselves and not have to be concerned with reporters, if a t.v. crew then thats at least 2 -3 civilians that have to be watched.

What duty, reporters are in it for the fame, they are not serving their country, its a job for money.

And its not the first time t.v. news crews have given away sensitive information of use to the enemy.

it is up to the to protect their selves. a reporter does not have a duty to be there reporting it is their profession, therefore it is their job to go where assigned to go to report on something.
