this is blasphemy!

Why would god bless an act of killing ? I just don't get it! if we are a nation of christians then where did we go wrong ?

Additionally, muslims, christians and jews all believe in the same god so the above statement is pointless given the context it is stated in.

let me just add that I think we should say this instead --
"I hope no one dies and EVERYONE returns home safely and in good health"

By everyone I mean everyone!

Yeah, and I love how we believe that God is on our side. As though God cares more about us than the people we are bombing.

Note to Christians: God is not an American.

We say say God bless our troops because they fight a vain war for oil, we all know this. Second America was build on christian princples but never confess it, thats where we went wrong and america is over 70% christian but its that less than 30% that keep us a Free religion Nation. Addition Christian and Jews have a relationship with the same God of Isreal, Issca, and Jacob but muslims and anyother teaching has a relationship with the god of this world.

As others have said, it's not to bless the act of killing, it's to bless our soldiers, to ask for their protection and safe return. Also, the Bible states that we must follow the laws of the land we live in, so that if someone is enlisted in the military and they are ordered into war, they must obey that. Btw, we aren't a nation of Christians, I have no earthly idea why you would even begin to thank that.

Yes, you are totally correct. But your statement that Muslims, Christians, and Jews all believe in the same god is the truth.

How can people believe in the hatred and killing done by Moses was condoned by God. Why did Jesus say Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness ?
Why did Jesus say Moses did not give us bread from heaven ?
Where did Moses get the bread (words) he gave us if they were not from the Father in heaven.
Why did Jesus say that all them that came before Him were thieves and robbers ?

Is it Moses that Jesus is telling us about in Revelation 13:10-18.

If we the Christains, the Muslims and the Jews all follow Satan as God, would we want kill each other ?

God is not partial, therefore he would Not take sides with any nation. God no longer condones war. The wars that were once fought in pre-Christian times were fought in order to vindicate his holy name and to bring to an end the nations who were pagan and refused to acknowledge him as their God. Those wars fought by the nation of Israel were fought with God's approval and many times he helped them win against their enemies. Things changed when his Son came to earth. Jesus taught his followers to pursue peace, to be peaceable with all people, to love their enemies and pray for them. The 1st century Christians refused to partipate in the politics or wars of the nations. Many were persecuted, tortured and even killed because they remained faithful to the things Jesus taught them and proclaimed their neutrality. True Christians do the same today. Wars fought today do not have divine approval. Many wars are even said to be fought in the name of religion. We have seen Catholics killing Protestants and Protestants killing Catholics and what about the Crusades--different faiths at war with each other. How many innocent lives are lost each year due to wars? would God condone the loss of innocent lives, including the lives of children just because nations do not get along? No, he wouldn't . God promises us that soon all wars will cease. We need to beat our spears into pruning hooks and our swords into plowshares. Isaiah 2:4 and Micah 4:3

Ever hear the expression "it's the thought that counts"? My two sons are in the military and if people want to "god bless them" that's just fine with me.

Lynn----tell your son "thank you" from me and I'm glad he's home safe.

You really need to read your Old Testament. The Biblical God has sent his people to kill others.

I see your point.
Why would a god who claims peace and love, condone and bless people violating one of his commandments? It says thou shall not kill. It doesn't specify that killing is OK sometimes so I see your point.
