Oh, for heaven's sake.

First, the USPS is no longer a government entity.

Second, please re-read the first amendment to the Constitution. The pertinent statement is: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ..."

Third, there have been religious images on stamps for quite a long time (note the madonna and child on Christmas season stamps). Somebody somewhere is likely offended by that, but it's not an official state endorsement of a particular religion.

No, because there is nothing in the Constitution that says anything about "separating Church and State" - and putting something on a stamp that is religious does not have anything to do with the "Establishment Clause".

I buy the Christ-Mass stamps with the Virgin Mary and Jesus on them every year. That does not mean that the government has made my religion the "official one".

the post office isn't a public organization. it's not part of the government. if it was it would have a .gov site not a .com one. there have been hundreds of Christian stamps, it's about time they did something else.
