Who can I benefit more from if I wanted to serve my country?

If you want to do your 20 and retire, the Army, Navy, or Marines is the way to go. The Airforce will actually NOT LET YOU re-enlist if they feel they are over strength for your job. So at that point you would have to transition to another branch. The Airforce even has a program "blue to green" meaning AF to Army.

NO SERVICE other than the Army can GARANTEE your chosen job. NONE. No matter what they say, how pretty they word it, how convincing they are, they can NOT. Just ask them to put IN WRITING what your MOS (job) will be. Not a general field.. 'Logisitcs' can be almost anything. They can't, only the Army is provided this ability.

It really depends on what you want to do career wise. If you want to get into more computer/techinal side, join the AF or the Navy. They tend to have better and more updated equipment. However, the army and marines offer a little more grunt type occupations. However, Army has some of the best medic schools. Figure out what YOU want to do and which branch can help you get a good education as far as what you want to do when you get out. Talk to different people (vets, recruiters, active duty) and figure out what you feel is best for you.

It all depends on what you specifically want to accomplish. There is a good and bad side to each branch.
Being in the Air Force, we have a lot more educational opportunities than any other branch. In fact there are several programs designed to allow you to get a college degree while serving your enlistment. Once you get a degree, there are programs to allow you to get a commission and become an officer. Bases are good, with some bad ones. I think Air force personnel get treated better compared to any other branch. There are opportunities for travel as well, but nothing comparable to travel with the Navy.

First of all, whoever said Air Force for salary, that's extremely ignorant. All branches use the same pay structure for enlisted, warrant, and officers. So all things being the same, I would say Coast Guard or Air Force.

p.s. I've been in the Coast Guard for 9 years now.

It all depends on what you want to do.

The most important question is not "Who can I benefit more from if I wanted to serve my country?" but, "Which branch will get the most benefit from me?"

Every duty (MOS/AFSC) is the most important one. Pilots need mechanics to maintain the aircraft. Infantry needs Armorers to repair weapons, Mechanics to repair vehicles, Accounting & Finance to get paid. Everybody needs Supply!
Medics, Fireman, Admin, etc................

As far as enlisted goes:
Air Force: great living conditions, great food, bad promotion rate (= longer time at lower pay). Lotta mind games, not so much emphasis on physical exercise. Least chance of getting hurt.
Marines: crappy living conditions, crappy food, great promotion rate. Lotta physical exercise, not many mind games. Most chance of getting hurt.
Army: tolerable living conditions, tolerable food, fine promotion rate. Decent amount of physical exercise, decent amount of mind games. Average chance of getting hurt.
Navy: It's own creature.
Coast Guard: 'Rescue 911' and 'Cops' on boats. Maybe I should have gone cg instead.

no other military branch have as much jobs as the army, just look at what you wanna do and which branch of service would guaranteed it to you. your best bet would be joining the army, do 2 years if you don't like it get out and transfer to another branch of service, but i bet you would like it so much you would reenlist.

Buy girl scout cookies, impeach Bush, and don't vote for that witch Hillary Clinton! From your own branch or vote independent and save the constitution! Buy tickets to see Led Zeppelin! life is short. Too much fun than bore your whole life with politics!

depends on where you think you're going.

what do you like to do?

AF needs to train jet engine mechanics every year. Pretty good paying job after you get out. Plus airframe mechanics.

Navy trains similar skills. Plus reactor techs for nuclear subs -- another well paying job in private life.

etc., etc. diesel engine mechanics in Army. plus helicopter mechanics. plus truck drivers. plus computer techs.

think about who you are and what you like to do.
