Anyone with half a brain knows that there are a lot of people out there who aren't Christians. When are people going to learn that it is not culturally sensitive to randomly spew "Merry Christmas" to everyone ?

How sad when someone is offended by a sweet greeting during the holidays. When in a different culture a person should be respectful of the culture. In Christian America, the culture celebrates Christmas.

People are just trying to be friendly and to wish you well. How is that so offensive?

It may not be culturally sensitive to say, "Merry Christmas," but it is certainly not sensitive to call anyone "looney".
It is not kind, either. People mean well.
We make mistakes. I am sure no one is saying, "Merry Christmas" with the intent to offend you.

Friendly courtesy should be welcomed by everyone . When someone wishes me a Merry Christmas , I return the wish. I am one hundred percent Atheistic .
Would it make you happier if people wished you a Rotten December Twenty-fifth ?
And a Very Merry Christmas to you .

For two decades I have worked among Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Neopagans, and outright atheists. AT NO TIME were there problems when one of us said "Merry Christmas" and the reponse was "Happy Hannukah" or any other of a list of responses. And now, there are whiny little grease spots who come out and complain about it.

GROW UP!

It isn't culturally sensitive to get in an uproar about it either.I take no offense at someone saying "merry Christmas","happy Hanukkah","bless you"or any of that.I am passionate about education.I want our children taught 21st century science. It bothers me not in the least, nor will I take any time to challenge someone who says any of the aforementioned phrases.Priorities,priorities.The schools, the courts. These I worry about."Merry Christmas"is just someone giving a traditional greeting

Most Americans celebrate Christmas regardless of whether or not they're Christians....What I don't understand is why our country has become such big babies....I mean I'm Christian and I'm not going to offend someone on purpous by any means but seriously....."It is not culturally sensitive"? come on. Grow up nothing is culturally sensitive....kinda like you saying presumptuous Christian....maybe you should practice what you preach.

I have more than half a brain and I understand that not everyone is christian, but why should I say Happy Holidays? What about the Jehovah Witness'? Happy Huanaka? I'm, not jewish, and what if they aren't? Happy Kawanza? What if they aren't balck, and if they are, what if they don't celebrate Kwanza? Happy Winter Soltice? What if they aren't pagen? My advice, get your underwear out of a your crack, try boxers, and accept the fact that not everyone is as overly sensitive as you, you whining prat. Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, it doesn't bother me when someone wishes to me what is in their heart. I do tend to get a little pissy when a company REQUIRES all employees to say a particular thing, however. That is wrong. I also dislike it when I wish someone a Happy Winter Solstice and they get all snippy with me. That tells me they don't want me to be free to celebrate how I wish, but they want that right.

No, I don't hate it.

I am not a Christian, but when anyone wishes me a merry or happy anything I am inclined to be thankful, even if I don't believe...

Nope. But if they feel the need to broadcast their religious insecurity in that way, I see nothing wrong with replying, "Blessed Yule!"

Normally I'm a Happy Holidays kind of girl...
