Why are other books needed to explain the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

J'suis Belle.. I know it's called the fullness of the Gospel.. The question was why the other Books D&C and PofPG if the BofM contains a fullness. As I understand fullness. One that point is reached and more if added it is spilled and wasted. Is that what these other books are fillover and waste?

There is no physical, historical or archaeological proof to Mormon teachings or claims, while the Bible has been proven to be true over and over again historically, archaeologically and physically.

Remember also Paul's words concerning "alternate Gospels", when he said;

Galatians 1:8-9
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

And those who preach that the "10 lost tribes" came to America had better read their Old Testament better, for it speaks of the remnants of the 10 tribes of Israel returning from Babylon with the Jews from Judah.

The Jews of Israel had been deported to Assyria, and Assyria had been in turn conquered by the Babylonians. So when Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Judah and deported the Jews to Babylon, they were met by the Jews from the 10 tribes who were already there.

And when Persia conquered Babylon, the Jews were allowed to return to Judah. Ezra speaks of sacrificing in Judah for ALL 12 TRIBES after they returned.

That's a good question because it illustrates a common misunderstanding. The gospel is a term meaning "good news." Contrary to what some people think, it is not all truth. It is not even everything you need to know to get to heaven. It is simply the good news that we may be redeemed from death and that our sins may be forgiven us through the atonement of Jesus Christ. There are important details, but it is not eternal marriage, it is not Church organization. Lots of people disagree with you that the Book of Mormon does not teach anything different from the Bible. It does teach mostly the same things as the Bible, but if you study it carefully you see that the understanding of the Bible teachings is quite different when read in the light of the Book of Mormon. You gain a better insight into the role of the priesthood, in the central role of Jesus Christ, the importance of baptism and many other doctrines. While Christian churches differ wildly on many principles, once you "nail" the doctrine down in two separate sets of scriptures a lot of the flopping around and looseness goes away. You will see teachings emerge that are not taught the same way, sometimes throwing a very different light on it. In my opinion the Pearl of Great Price is not much different from the Bible either. Which is reasonable, since all the scriptures agree when properly understood.

It was explained by the Apostle Paul that the New Covenant was made because the Old Covenant could not save anyone. The Gospel which was prophesied to come was delivered by Jesus Christ in a most complete way. I personally do not see a reason why more would be necessary when Jesus already delivered it and was resurrected after delivering it.

I do not believe that 'another' Testament was necessary.

As I understand it, the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ is to be as a little child, in our relationship toward others.

Any book, poem, song or movie that has this essence is the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Because it's not real. Why is there mention of grains, animals and metals that weren't even in America at the supposed time the book was written? Why is the papyrus that Joseph used to "translate" the book of Abraham, now translated as totally incorrect? Why is there no DNA proof of the lamanites?

It's not a hard conclusion to come to.

The gospel of Jesus the Christ is the same in all denominations, however, only the mormons read and teach this Gospel, daily. In their study they present 90 percent of all the sayings of Jesus the Christ, whereas, the majority of Christain churches present less then 2 percent of the sayings of Jesus the Christ, yearly. The christains churches present more then 97 percent of their own words and the words of another besides Jesus'.

The other books you speak of are meant as more modern revelations for the "saints" to follow.

Kind of like if the Pope wrote down some of his "prophecies",etc and made them a book. It would be another reason to follow him as leader of Christs church, etc.

Bible and Book of Mormon are of ancient times, the other two (D&C and Pearl of Great Price) are meant to be something the modern folks could really relate too and see that their prophets did recieve revelations.

Mormonism is full of contradictions and Orwellian doublespeak. What the Latter-Day Saints tell you isn't what they really mean..
Its all very political and they say whatever puts your mind at ease while they plan to rule the planet someday.

If the book of Mormon were indeed Divinely inspired there would be no contradiction between it & the Bible--and ther ARE contradictions.

It is another testament of Jesus Christ. Along with the bible, it contains the fullness of the gospel. It is about Christ's people on the American continent.

The Doctrine and Covenants and Pear of Great Price are given to us in our time as further revelation. Why wouldn't God give us a Prophet in our time to give us further direction and light? That is why we have a prophet for our church.
