Try talking them down. This year was plagued with a few problems, but if you like it, I don't see why not.

Hey,

A 300zx is a great car... A stock 300zx, if you can get it in manual transmission, is VERY trusty. I've been driving a 300zx for 6 years and it's still smooth as butter..

If you're looking to customize the engine and body the car is CHERRY... the old 300zx is VERY custom engine part friendly...

Specifically, if it's ONLY 111k Miles after 17 years, then that car has NOT been spoiled! It's not run a lot and that means it's still good to go.. Take it for a test drive and punch it a little bit to see how it sticks. If it's good and the price is decent, then it's definitely worth the bucks..

Check the transmission and the transmission fluid. If it's all in place I would go for it....

I think there are better cars to choose from than a 18 year old sports car. We recently have been seeing lots of fuel injectors because ethanol has attacked the plastic and electromagnet winding inside the fuel injector. But hey I just work on them every day. The 1990 and 1991 had soft valve problems that was repaired in the 1992 and up cars. Only buy the very best example you can find. Get it mechanically checked out before money changes hands.

I don's see why not? The 300ZX is a great platform with a ton of aftermarket support. You can make very good power with the VQ motor and the car itself has that "wow" factor, which is always good for show! Good luck with your decision.

I would buy it but if you really want a fast Z look for a Twin Turbo more expensive but I regret not buying one. So now I'm stuck with upgrading mine with a TT Front clip and its not cheap

Check the Kelly Blue Book for a realistic price.
If it seems reasonable to YOU, then go for it!
