"too much caffeine" in a specific instance would make a person jittery, but too much on an ongoing basis causes no specific symptoms other than the need for the dose to which someone has become accustomed...."symptoms" then only occur if you haven't had ENOUGH caffeine, and include a wide range of unpleasant physical and mental conditions including nervousness, irritability, anxiety, tremulousness, muscle twitching (hyperreflexia), insomnia, headaches, respiratory alkalosis and heart palpitations. Furthermore, because caffeine increases the production of stomach acid, high usage over time can lead to peptic ulcers, erosive esophagitis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease!

Irregular heart beat. Particularly on the hot day, dehydrated, stressed out at work, and go home bicycling, then when you get home, you'll feel your heart pounding fast. Check your pulse, and you will find it's skipping and freak out.

dehydration (as caffine in tea/coffee does that)

I become hyper, the blacks of my eyes dilate. :) I look all loved up, but its the symptoms of caffeine, for me. My heart-speed riots. I shouldn't take coffee, as I've a speeding pulse alreadies, I can't help myself, though.

And also, I become very fidgety and rattley. :)
