can we all agree that when we're refering to the Christian god, we capitalize his name?:

Thus Sky Fairy instead of sky fairy.

Thanks!

I'm concerned about the homosexual reference, may cause fundies to not know to whom we are referring. Can't think of a better alternative at the moment.

On another note, I think we should use the Simpsonian reference for the son of the Sky Fairy - Jebus for the reasons below, lifted from the Urban Dictionary:

Originated from The Simpsons. Generally used by the general public and webcomic authors so as not to spark religious debate. It does not "use the Lord's name in vain," and gets the message across.

"Save me, Jebus!!!"

The earliest written form of the Germanic word "god" comes from the 6th century Christian Codex Argenteus. The English word itself descends from the Proto-Germanic *ǥuđan. Most linguists agree that the reconstructed Proto-Indo-European form *ǵhu-tó-m was based on the root *ǵhau(ə)-, which meant either "To call" or to "invoke."

The capitalized form "God" was first used in Ulfilas' Gothic translation of the New Testament, to represent the Greek Theos.

When referring to the single deity of Christianity, "God" is capitalized. It's a grammar thing, not a religious thing.

I generally capitalize God when refering to the Abrahamic deity to be polite.

After all, I wouldn't want Zeus to think I was insulting him.

I prefer to spell it Sky Faerie. It is still a proper spelling, but it seems to confuse them. I have had them email me telling me it's wrong at least three times.

But yeah, we can capitalize it.
