Oh, let him howl. He probably sounds better than the choir. If you insist on going to church, convert him to Buddhism.

I would think the logical options you have are either:
1. Teach him to howl on key with the choir.
2. Dont bring him to church.
3. Get a new choir that he doesnt howl at.
4 Stop going to church.
5. Get a don that 'yips' instead of howls.
6. reprimand him in some way when he does it.

It is true dog's have very sensitive hearing, but I have also known dogs who very much enjoyed "singing," as some would call it. A black lab and chow mix that my step-father had enjoyed "singing" along with Hendrix, although he was kept in the back yard. My minature poodle, and mutt mix, enjoyed "singing" with my Girls Talk tape in the 80's, and I had a half bobcat/domestic who enjoyed singing with the Beatles. If it continues to be a problem try finding a quiet spot for him to be in, or as another user suggested try to get him to howl in rythem with the choir, and just so you know, I see no problems with an animal being included with church activities as long as he can still do his business outside.

Just as wolves howl as a pack, your pup thinks you are calling to others of your kind...he being part of your pack, well, he's just lending his tones to the effort. To have him sit quietly while you all sing would be equivalent to you having to do so...not so great on the esteem--it's a rejection of sorts, right???
I had a black Dane...quite a character!!! He was a house dog and madly in love with my cats, although they did not appreciate him trying to fit everywhere they could...it took about 2 yrs. of flipping short tables (and everything on them) "being a kitty" until he realized just how big he really was...and yes, he had a nice set of lungs when he needed them. LOL

That is the sign that the choir sing a song which is not for God but for the satan. Aa dog howl when he can say a demon while you sing a song in your church. Maybe your church is not for God

Earplugs????? As you know, dogs have exceptional hearing. It could be hurting the dogs ears. They especially dislike higher notes. The simple answer is to take him elsewhere during church.

Maybe he doesn't like church. Otherwise he prefers house music to choir music. You better ask him.
