Muslim means follower of Islam. It is not a label. In other religions particularly in south Asia people born in a family belonging to some religious community is assumed to be so like aHindu is called a Hindu b coz his parents are Hindus irrespective of whether they follow the same or not. That is really a label that by accident of birth in some family the person becomes a Hindu or Sikh or Jain or Buddh, a sad story indded.

I agree with the first answerer. Christian is more than a label. It tells you who I am. Just like if I told you I am a man or I am American or I am 56 years old. So your question really doesn't make sense because I AM being myself when I say I am Christian. Just like when I say I am white, or old, or American, or an engineer, or whatever.
Now if you or someone else want to be offended by those things, then that's your choice. If you want to argue about some of those, again, that's your choice. But I am what I am.

The labels are useful markers that convey in one word a system of beliefs held by the people who use them. It makes it easy for people to identify others who hold similar views and helps them to form a common bond through a shared identity.
The downside is that it can also cause people using different labels to form enmity for no good reason.

Most people label themselves.
We call ourselves, man, woman, lib, dem, repub, conservative, environmental, capitalist, communist, socialist, green, new yorker, californian, floridian, northerner, southerner, protestant, catholic, jew,. atheist, etc, etc, etc.
People are themselves.
They also mingle with likeminded people.
They often label themselves and others.

Its not really a label, its way of life, its the way you believe, As a Christian I believe in Jesus Christ, the Holy Bible says He was born of a virgin, definitely a mircalous birth, then died on a Cross, crucified, a perfect sinless man, crucified as a sacrifice for my sins. The Bible says that sins separate us from God. Jesus came to break down that wall of separation. In the book of Hebrews in the Bibles it says there has to be sheding of blood for remission of sins. Jesus's blood was Perfect, He was sinless. He arose from the grave the third day forever opening the door to salvation to all who will believe. Christ arose from the grave victorious over sin, now the Bible says to get to Heaven and be with Jesus we must be born again spiritually, we must confess that we are a sinner and that we need him as our Saviour, its that simple, its a free gift from Jesus to us, we are saved by his grace thru Faith, Have you ever ask Jesus to forgive you of something you've done?Have you ever ask him to take charge of your life? You can right now, just pray this sinners prayer of faith and you can be born again right now and become a Christian, a believer, just pray Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you made a decision for Christ or have any questions, Please send me an email, God Bless YOU!!
