Well I want £120,000 A WEEK for kicking this football around a field. My question is anyone else sick to the back teeth of football these days.

i think they are overpaid and over rated.im not sick of it because i will always follow my team (rangers) till i die.But i do watch a lot less football than i used to,because the games are just so boring and players go down like they took a bullet every time somebody challenges them(p00fs).

I'm sure there are hundreds of thousands up and down the length of Britain sick of the way football is going these days.

Unfortunately there are still hundreds of thousands pouring through the turnstiles and paying OTT for Sky, Setanta etc., along with the thousands upon thousands whose lives are completely dominated by and are addicted to, the game that keeps it going in the direction it is. As long as these people pour their money into it at the expense of everything else, very little will change until it self-destructs under the weight of it's own importance.

Yes I remember watching football in the 70's and 80's when it was enjoyable and there were genuine characters playing the game like Rodney Marsh etc. Now they are are overpaid and too many foreigners coming here for the fast buck with no loyalty to clubs. You only have to look at the new Wembley with it's corporate area and seats bought for ten years by rich business men to woo their clients to realise football is no longer the working man sport

The money available comes from advertisiers and the poeple paying to watch it.

How the businesses (whch clubs are) get their money is by investing in good players and that is how much they are worth to them.

It is no different to a film company paying millions to a film star if it guarantees them a good return as everyone flocks to see the film.

A good player will help them progres in the league and get them into Europe will the serious money is to be made.

its never going to change, but i think the fairer way would be....if you lose you get say £1000 per game but if you win you get say £15.000 at least this way they might actually play to get the wages.I mean if you had a chance to earn that sort of money every game you played you would run ya socks off for it,but clearly the players have so much money they do not need anymore,or thats the impression that i get.

No player is worth £80k a week

absolutely,i dont mind players earning a lot of money but there has got to be a limit 250k -600k a month before advertising, image rights sponsorships is ridiculous, fair enough reward players for winning things and improving, but dont forget the clubs buy their food supply cars give them clothes, they rarely pay at restaurants, they have everything handed to them, (premiership players) thats why they couldnt fight for england they have forgot how, there are a few players out there who would play for the shirt, but they are few and far between,
