If, hypothetically (excuse my spelling), we discovered another planet that could have life, and we, in millions of years mind you, moved people there, where would your god go? I was watching something on the history channel and it got me thinking. god is only said to have created earth in the creation story, right? What would the church say about that?
Please explain.

I have read the bible- through and through. I am an atheist, but I think it's a good thing to know the religion that you mock (Yes, it is actually called humor). I understand that god supposedly made the universe-- I stated that wrong in my question. But there is nothing said in the bible about another planet, just earth. My question was that if there was another planet (my question is not: is there is another planet?), what excuse would you use to cover your asxes?
i tried to be nice the first time.

My beliefs don't exclude the idea that there could be life on other planets.

I believe that we will never find another planet with macro organisms on it but we might find one with micro organisms because then jesus would have to go die for them also. How ever God created the whol universe not just earth so that would be living on his creation still. The bible says he created the heavens and the earth which means in this context as the sky and it talks about stars and the sun and the moon also.

The fact that God created the earth and everything on it does not preclude the fact that he may have created other universes, parallell universes, alternative realities. To think that he only created only this planet and only the people on it is selling God short. We would be conceited indeed to feel we are his only creations.

If there was another plant with life on it (which there is not) the Lord Jesus Christ would have to go that plant and die for their sins. I don't know what the church would say but I do know what the Bible says and it says there is only one earth and the Lord Jesus Christ only died once for sin. Hebrews 10: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Our God wouldn't go anywhere. He created the universe. Not just the earth. No one ever said that the possibility of life on another planet is non existant.

Where would he go? Nothing would change.
You are wrong. God created the Heavens and the Earth. Read about it in Genesis.
He created EVERYTHING in the Unoverse. We would know that GOd had created the planet for us to discover.
Genesis1:1
God created THE HEAVENS and THE EARTH.
Planets are in the Heavens.
I hope this helps.

the bible says god created the heavens and the earth ( Genisis 1) and that means god created any other planet you are from and any other planet people may move to in the future.

I don't believe the discovery of life on another planet would diminish people's belief in God. Life, no matter where it is, has come from somewhere--a higher power, a Supreme Being, etc., etc., etc.

Genesis records the creation of all things......the heavens and earth. Learn what the Bible says, from the Bible....not the History Channel.

God created the entire universe, one.
Two, the bible was written by men, through the lens of their own time period.
It wouldn't prove anything, though nice try. :)
