There is an element of truth in both! I think the first could be better worded by "We move to higher moral ground when we look like being found out" And the second, "presumption is the undoing of many a relationship"

i disagree with the first one.
i think everyone has a standard of what morality means that is accepted by everyone such as
do not kill
do not cheat
ect.
other people just have stricter morals.
& we have morals and opinions about things and people we don't even know.
so how could we dislike them personally?

the second one is kind of true
i think it should say
high expectations
because everyone has expectations when it comes to relationships
and not all of them fail
