It's the hardest thing anyone will have to do. It's a balancing act because usually there are two different personalities involved and some people have more personal problems. Here are some tips I use and it must be working because my baby and I have a good, strong love and devotion with fun sprinkled in there.
Be independent and don't rely on your partner 100%. Go out with buddies and have a hoot every so often. If you like go away with a friend on a short vacation. Learn to communicate with your partner (you should be able to tell each other anything.) Be best friends. Learn to laugh a lot with each other. Have adventure in your life. It can be as simple as a surprise evening picnic on a beautiful beach (or a friend's cabin in the mountains) to a romantic dinner, dancing or an evening at home with a hot bubble bath, candles and a nice bottle of wine (flowers of course.) Just laying around on the floor talking about future plans, hopes and dreams. Hobbies. Whether it be sports to art, everyone needs to zero in on what they do best and what they enjoy. Never be afraid to act silly at times and do something out of character as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. Go skinny dipping, run naked through a field or meadow or have a good roll in mud and just throw all your inhibitions to the wind every so often. Love is being stupid together!
The best part is being glued to each other 24/7 full of trust and love!

i think you can't coz forever would seem a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrryyyyy long time.. You'd be gone by then. Even if you manage to preserve the one you love by cryogenics or the like, you wouldn't be there to keep here anymore. But really, enough of the technicalities. I tell you, if you want to keep her till you die perhaps, then noone in yahoo answers will be able to give you a 100% sure answer (unless they're ultra clairvoyant), coz the experience of love varies for every individual. And keeping the one you love forever? I think this line of thinking might get someone hurt, especially someone who is very attached to a person..

It is not difficult. Be sincere to only your (love)the better half. Share every things without hiding anything from each other. Create a trust with each other.
If there is a difference of opinion one who feels is wrong make an apology. If one is angry the other keep quiet. Be ready to share what you have with each other.
Love for each other will automatically grow and there will be no reason to separate, not on earth but in heaven too.

There should be a mutual feeling here to keep your love forever. Stay as a friend and lover. Don't forget to shew and let her feel that your love everyday. Respect, Trust and love that will keep you together forever. Don't forget COMMUNICATION.

thats a hard one to answer. u can never tell if things r going to work out. if u truelly love them and have been with them for a while marry them. if already married then keep reminding her how much she means to u. there is always that chance that something can happen though. hopefully everything works out in the end.

You can't. People are not objects that you keep on a shelf forever... that's a silly notion. People are with you because they WANT to be with you... not because they should... and only if they want to be with you forever.

make her feel like she is the only living person in the world,
call her randomly just to tell her you love her(don't do this at like 2am) the girl is sleeping and needs her beauty sleep, you don't have to buy her gifts everyday but flowers and jewelry do the trick(chocolate is the best way to go)(unless she don't like it) and you can also just listen when she talks and make sure you hug her alot.

Make yourself so crazily irresistable they'd never want anyone else. Or failing that, shatter their confidence and convince them they'd never be able to find anyone better than you. That way they're too scared to leave. Taxidermy should be a last resort!
