me and my boyfriend look through personal ads(for fun,we are very happy together)and we notice every time be it a straight guy or gay they are around 47 but looking for younger-18-30 usually,and now,when we check straight women/lesbians they tend to look for girls/guys near their age-23 looking for 18-26.
we are curious to know.

I wouldn’t really say it is just a guy thing.
Older women seem to look for younger guys also (though perhaps not as much younger).
I think a lot of it we all (male or female) start reaching a point where our bodies start slowing down (we hear snap, crackle and pop in the morning and we are not eating cereal) but our mind still feels young. So we go though, for lack of a better term, our mid-life crisis and try to pretend we can still do what we could when we were younger by dating people younger than we are.

The fools who advertise in a newspaper for a date are usually the bottom of the barrel desperados demonstrating the only way they can carry out their non-reality fantasies.
If somebody really wanted a quality able partner, they'd look in churches, parks and other mass gatherings.
Also be aware of whom shares your hobbies. If someone is eligible to date and is a ballroom dancer, Texas Hold 'em player, coin collector or horseback rider just like you, you'd have something in common before Cupid ever drew a bow.
I am 44, single and in no real hurry to just grab a companion. This time it's going to be a good one.

Wow! Interesting...I would venture to say that the men always want someone younger because according to what guys have shared on this topic the younger women ask less questions. They are not so apt to challenge you about what your doing when your not with them.
The other gender wants the older women because women are usually seeking more maturity.

lol. a lot of guys are vain they want the physical instead of the mental. they think you can get both physical and mental, but you can't. lol. guys also feel younger girls make it better for their socio-economic status. younger girls are easier to brainwash, and take advantage of as well. this is the main reason guys do it. younger people, in general, are easier to take advantage of, aren't usually financially able yet, and are firm in their looks (no wrinkles, no blotches, less physical flaws). typically, not always.

Yeah guys when they get into their 40's start really wanting teens or young girls anyway...I know i do, so I guess it's a guy thing...
