I have an acquaintance that can get me a very good position as a parole/probation Officer, I am very close to receiving my degree in Criminal Justice but the only problem is my husbands criminal background with the state and federal! I have never had any kind of a record. So will my husbands record affect me getting that position and/or future jobs as a parole/probation Officer in the federal/state system?

Someday, someone will run his background. In your field it will most likely be a co worker, or your boss.
If he is straight now, it shouldn't matter. But it most likely will matter.
Be honest up front and it becomes a non issue. If you hide it, it will be worse.
Good luck.

It is very possible. It may depend on how serious the charges were and how long ago. Background checks for jobs in law enforcement are often very thorough so it will come up so don't lie about it! In addition, most state and federal agencies have personnel codes which prohibit you as an officer from associating with persons of questionable character.

If he is reformed, not on probation and you admit to the fact that he has a criminal background it might not effect your position. Law enforcement is not supposed to associate with felons, as felons are not supposed to either. But it is on a case by case basis. So you have a good chance of still getting the job if you are honest with them.

That really depends on what he did and how long ago it was. If he's a recently convicted multiple-felon, you'll probably have some trouble explaining things to the DoC.

YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE AND WILL BE JUDGED UPON YOUR CREDENTIALS.

AFTER THE INTERVIEW IS DONE A BACKGROUND CHECK MAY REVEAL THAT YOUR HUSBAND HAS A CRIMINAL RECORD IN HIS PAST. THIS SHOULD HAVE NO WEIGHT. BUT IT WILL BE QUESTIONED AND CAN BE EXPLAINED AS TIME AGO, BEFORE MARRIAGE, FINE UPSTANDING CITIZEN LEARNED HIS LESSON AND WAS STUPID AND ADMITS THAT, DID HIS TIME AND IS REHABILITATED ETC.
