Does this "guy" code really exist? as in, guys shouldn't date their guy friend's ex? I've seen it on tv shows & stuff, but in real life...
I dated a guy, but i dumped him, & then a few months later, i went out with one of his close friends (they've been friends for maybe 8 years). We broke up a while back, but not on bad terms.
Anyway, just wondering why a guy would go out with his friend's ex, esp when he knew that my ex still liked me at the time.

I probably am going to sound slutty by replying.... I do not take the "guy code" into though. It is BS if you ask me. Why does going out with an ex boyfriends friend make you wrong and dirty? You are no longer dating and should have a choice on who you want to date. I guess there are certain boundaries one should stay within, but why does certain things limit attraction?

I probably wouldn't go out with a friend's ex girlfriend unless he didn't have a problem with it. There is a good reason why guys shouldn't date their friend's ex. One should value your friends more than a woman unless you are married. The woman may not stick around, but your friends should be forever.

because your ex's friend is a dick. i've been in your ex's position before (almost the same exact situation) and until i got over my feelings for the girl i wanted to beat his *** every single day. once i got over the girl, i still felt disgusted and betrayed that my good friend would do that crap.
and i personally refuse to go after a girl that has quite recently been attached with a friend of mine.

most times the ex and the ex's friend enjoy the same qualities of the ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend to be.
