After eating a big meal, a lot of times I will get a severe pain in my solar plexus area that last for several hours, usually starting around 2 or 3 AM and am unable to sleep until it goes away which could be several hours later. I've tried all the acid reflux over the counter stuff like rolaids, tums, alka-seltzer. Even got prescription for prilosec, nexium, etc. None of that crap works. What's weird is, if I eat my first meal for the day and wait about 8-9 hours before eating my second and final meal for the day, I'm usually fine. It seems to have something to do with digestion, like my stomach needs to have fully digested a prior meal before taking in any more food. There was also a couple of times when I had the pain, then had a large bowel movement, and it cleared the pain. Anyone have similar problems or any solutions for my pain? When I'm in pain, it is unbearable. I just wish I could find a way to alleviate the pain when it comes.

There are a number of possibilities such as GERD (another name for acid reflux) but I would recommend a consultation with a gastroenterologist (doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders involving the digestive system) if you haven't already to see what they think might be causing this.

First thing you will have to do is agree to be doctor of your own.
Pain is after big meal, so possibility of ulcer rules out.
Take small meals and note down observations in a seperate note book datewise.
Take big meals with spices and without spices.
Make notes of both occasions.
Take 1-2 oranges after pain starts and note down observations.
Keep one day fast on citrus fruits if you are young and 3 days if grown up.
Now you will understand where you were mistakened. If problem mail me.
Best luck.
