You are not supposed to fear God. Its like anybody in authority. The bible tells us to respect him, and believe in him, but not exactly fear him. If you are afraid, then chances are you are doing something you shouldn't. If you are following a "god like" lifestyle, then you should have nothing to fear, and therefore would have no reason to fear God.

The Bible says that "perfect love throws fear outside."
Thus a Christian who is obedient to God has nothing to fear from God, yet he/she still wants to 'fear' God. How and why?
This is fear meant as showing respect for his commandments and obeying them. This deep respect in obeying the commandments is what constitutes our WAY of life and safeguards the Christian now and for all eternity.
The love of God and his way of life is what creates a society of peace and harmony. Without God there is no impetus for doing the right thing.
If I am not punished except if I am caught by the police, why should I not steal? What now if I found $10,000 or more on the road, as some have? A Christian would do what is morally right, and society is better for it.
Through morality society has a method for becoming orderly and for taking loving care of the poor and the disadvantaged.
In today's society that has accepted evolution, it all comes down to being caught. ' I ' can rob, steal, murder, etc -- it doesn't matter at all, because god doesn't see and is not there to pay me back for my evils.
All, I'll say to you evolutionists and atheists, is this -- you can be happy that people like myself are not evolutionist. I can promise you, you wouldn't like it.

I'm really sorry you feel abused - you sound really angry.
You misunderstand the word 'fear' - it's fear - not in the terrifying sense - it's more like - having GREAT reverence for GOD.i.e great RESPECT for Him that you revere Him greatly. GOD is LOVE and He wants us to know Him and have a relationship with Him. He LOVES us so much. But God is HOLY and tolerates no sin. But our righteousness cannot stand before God.
The only way we can be reconciled to Him is through JESUS CHRIST - who is the righteousness of God - the mediator that we must have to reach God. When we have Christ, He covers us with His robe of righteousness (having forgiven us and cleansed us)
Although, I must add that the WRATH of God is not something anyone would like to encounter.
God is to be feared, worshiped and honored - He's not just a 'god-thing' - He is greater than His own creation and has EVERY right to do as He pleases with His own creation.
Whether you believe it or not - whether it offends you or not. GOD EXISTS. GOD IS REAL.

then why the attraction to R&S?...its called self abuse darl
me i fear God because i know He is Real. although your mind is capable of grasping this you choose not to believe that He LIVING, LOVING and MERCIFUL...it really is that simple. why hold it against me that i choose believe?
as you believe you as an atheist is superior in intellect compared to believers why then can you not be more understanding of our faults? we arent as "evolved" as you as you know.
you meet a couple of religious nuts during your lifetime and you wanna come here and take it out on the rest of us?. may i suggest you take up star-gazing ...and contemplate the beauty and vastness of the universe.... a much worthier cause than trolling wouldnt you agree?
God bless you! i do pray that you will see Him in others and come to believe Jesus is Lord of all creation! and i make no apology in asking this for you. you will reject it but i can only hope that you wont for your sake. im not gonna lie to you, i leave the worrying about your soul to God.
He already knows the choice you will finally decide on...you dont as yet know yourself nor i for that matter (i can only hope that i have the sense not to ever reject Him again). come J-Day all will be revealed.
Take heed my friend....Fear God

in actuality this fear mentioned means to reverence to be in awe of .. the magnitude of his MAJESTY THE GLORY is awesome and the love HE has for HIS creation is beyond measure,, ITS not the type of fear that paralizes someone here thats mentioned!! u lose alot in translating from hebrew an greek into english,,fact.. THEIR IS ALWAYS A CERTAIN amount of fear too it is healthy,, when u be a child many fear their parents this stops then from doing what is wrong in the beginning ,,
later as they mature love sets in and they obey out of love and no longer fear .. .. is this satisfactory then?? as we mature in love and get to know GOD AS OUR CREATOR WE HAVE TO REALIZE THAT OUR DISOBEDIANCE SEPERRATES US FROM HIM,,
DEAR SIR AND MAM when u sincerely love someone do u want to be seperrated from them? when u have children of your own what does it feel like when you dont know where they are? what does it feel like to know they may be in danger >> what does it feel like when they say i dont love u ??
CAN U SEE that GOD IS JUST like u in this way ? HE doesnt wantto be sepparated from u either . HE longs to spend time with us too . HE SHOWS US IN THE GOSPEL OF 1 JOHN ch, 4;18 that perfect love casts out fear, mr , do u fear your wife wont love you any more ladies do u also fear thatthe man u love wont be their for u too?? 1 john 4 ; 18 .. we all need to be perfected in love then fear wont rule over us ,, brother murray

no one can make you fear God. i fear God, but i could never make you fear Him. i respect God, i respect myself, and i respect you, too, no matter what you believe.
look, i'm a Christian, but I don't force my beliefs down your throat or run around smacking people with Bibles. any Christian who does is sinful, and they need to work that out with God.
God tells us, as Christians, that we are to hate the sin and love the sinner, and also that we are not the ones to judge and may not judge another person's salvation because we don't know their heart. Bible-thumping Christians are doing wrong and being hypocritical, thats between them and God.

Isaiah 40:21 Do you not know? Do you not hear? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in; 23 who brings princes to nothing, and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness. 24 Scarcely are they planted, scarcely sown, scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth, when he blows on them, and they wither, and the tempest carries them off like stubble. 25 To whom then will you compare me, that I should be like him? says the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name, by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing.
Revelation 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

You don't fear Him now but the day is coming when you WILL.
And HE promises you that YOU will bow to Him AND confess His name:
Rom 14:11 For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
