I agree with you. I actually spent hours (literally) searching the internet for a nice blender for my parents that wasn't made in China (or Mexico) but in the U.S.A. It's pretty difficult because that info. isn't always made available online and I think many people don't bother to check, which is sad. I finally found a high-quality Hamilton Beach Ensemble Blender with a glass (not cheap-o plastic) jug at Target.com that is Made in the U.S.A. so I bought it. I also buy Kodak film for my SLR camera instead of Fuji because Kodak uses U.S. made film (though it's assembled into canisters in Mexico). I don't mind spending a few bucks more for American-made stuff, and the days of crappy American made stuff are pretty much gone. The American-made things I've bought hold-up great. I have an made in USA West Bend Poppery II popcorn maker that is 20 years old - I use it several times a week and it works perfectly!
We have to stop sending our money to communist China to save a few bucks. What do we get in return? We strengthen a potential enemy's economy and they give us lead-tainted products and poison pet food. You pay a few bucks extra for US made products but that supports laws that guarantee you better and safer products as well as supports your own country. Americans should feel proud and stop feeling guilty and letting other people tell us we owe them something or aren't as good, or can't make good products - we absolutely can and we are the greatest country in the world. If we keep on this track, we won't be though.

I don't know... I bought a crap Samsonite luggage last year that I still use when travelling; my crap wet-&-dry shaver's working fine strangely; the crap living room furniture from Xiamen looks pretty good to me; so are the other crap stuff from that crappy China. But maybe you right, I need to make sure my money do not fatten the bank accounts of American corporation too much... mmm... should I switch to crap Mexican products?

To be honest, my Chinese stuff works. My American made stuff always breaks, breaks down, or too cheap to work properly. I don't know why that is, but the work put into Chinese made things seems always to be better than that of the American made stuff.
