Thanks for correcting me where necessary and more importantly reminding me of many more bad arse combat aircraft

Apart from you no one has asked such a pathetic, ill informed or ignorrant question. Most people have looked at history and saw what sh*t went down
Because you answered I will answer your question
Because sometimes some people need killing eg Adolf Hitler, WW2 Japanese armed forces etc etc

I had a friend say when "Puff" (AC130 in Nam days) flew over not even the mosquitoes lived. Any plane like the A-10 that can induce stall with its own gun is "talk'n". I'd have to pick Sandy's replacement the A6. F4 overrated and no gun until the pod. Ah - the Spit and the Stang, what's not to like, until you've been up close and personal to a Rolls Royce Merlin at full throttle you haven't lived. Not that familiar with the Beaufighter, never even seen one at an air show or in a movie. I have a soft spot for the Harrier, worked on them in the mid 70's. The deadliest are probably the ones that are "black" and we don't know about yet. I'd love to know what's blowing donut hole vapor trails over area 51?, a replacement for the SR71 maybe? Being an Anglophile I lean toward the Spitfire and the moral boost it provided Britain at a bad time. But you can't deny the Warthog has sex appeal. Statistically what plane has shot down the most planes and killed the most people on the ground?? RScott

All Right, Same style as yours. But I think of planes that work great as teams are the deadliest, so I will give you some as teams.
The Supermarine Spitfire and The Hawker Hurricane- The killers of the German Air force during the Battle of Britain. The Hurricane killed more plans then the Spitfire, I can't split the two up because the worked together so well
P-47 Thunderbolt, P-51 Mustang, B-17 Flying Fortress- all three were the deadliest Aircraft in the offense. All three killed a lot of the German Air force and kill a ton of people and equipment on the ground.
F-8 Crusader- This plane killed more planes in Vietnam then the F-4 and for a long time they held the marks for most kills in a Month until they were pulled out for a lack of the plane after a long time in combat.
Mirage III & the Israel's version of it, the Kifar- The Israelis killed a lot of Middle Eastern Pilots with this French fighter, and the best of their Air Force flies the Mirage III or their Kifar that is the same as the Mirage III but a good amount more fuel in the tank.
If I had more room,
F-15C Eagle- Makes any air force a turkey shoot
F6F Hellcat- This plane's favorite prey is the Japanese Zero
A-10 Thunderbolt II- Left a lot of enemy tanks as Swiss Cheese
AH-64 Apache & AH-1 Cobra- The helicopters that left only death in their wake.
The Gunships (AC-130s, AC-119s, & Spookies)- Do you wounder why one squadorn's unoffical motto is, "You can run, but you will only die tired."
The A-6 Intruder, If you want a heavy attack load, this is the plane to call.
The B-52 Stratofortress- This thing name is not kill the enemy, it's OVERKILL TIMES 5 on the enemy's butt.
The A-1H Skyraider- A long endurance and a the first plane to get a gun kill against a MiG-19 in Vietnam, gave a great reason to put the guns back on the fighters were they belong

MMMM well i lije theese question and i could do a heavy list of aircrafts and why i love them.
Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalb - for an instance is the first jet fighter ( sorry for anyone that encoutered it)
The Havilland Mosquito - Power in wooden body
The P51 Mustang- i love stories of the flying tigers.
And the old British Swordfish- who else was there to sink the Bismark
Then we go to much modern aircrafts.
Mil Mi-24 - You know the Russian Flyng tank, as it is old as hell it still looks dam impresive, althought it is not as powerfull as it may have been.
Mig 21- I know you mention the f4, enemie of theese russian craft, but hey theese mig survived the test of time and even faced the f15 ( with not such a great performance)
The A-10, comon with those gatling guns shreding tanks armors
( i know you said 7 but im to 10)
The Mig 31- A very fast and sturdy air craft, know to have escaped from engagements with f15
Offcourse F-15 Eagle and its russian equivalent Su 37 Terminator ( and 27 flanker) common theese is the very best fighter in the air ( i know the best fighters in the air are the Raptors , but there not as many as the Eagle and they havent claimed as many victims)
and last but not least SU- 47 Berkut- Its foward sweep, its modern avionics , its looks... i dont know i love it
Su-47

Did somebody forget Apache helo-gunship. Not only does it
kill everything on the ground. It also takes out jet fighters. The
AC130 is a nightmare, while your awake. I spent 68-69 in the
Nam. ( I'm 61 ) that thing was built for taking lives. Sandys are
a good plane. And they can hang around and support ground
troops along time.F-22 raptor is superior to anything in the air. Spitfires, Mustangs and phantoms rate high marks too.

I have to relate to the aircraft that I have actually seen at work.
First on my list is "Spooky" use to freak me right out. Those three 20 mils could prepare a field for planting. And, without it there would have never been a Spectre.
http://www.ux1.eiu.edu/~rdlawhead/Photos/airplanes/Warbirds/spooky.jpg
Second on my list is the A-26 with 8 50s in the nose and 4 50s in each wing, they could almost stall that thing out.

Third is the F8F Bearcat. This one was at Bien Hoa AB
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2082/2053068514_9b7aa59801.jpg?v=0
Forth was the A-6 with 4 cans of napalm I still can't believe how many acres I saw set ablaze by them. Those navy guys still did a lot of damage with these in the first Gulf war.
http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9G_bDgs8kZHDRYAoQejzbkF/SIG=12foubo23/EXP=1195918252/**http%3A//www.jefflewis.net/graphics/aircraft/A-6_Intruder.jpg
Thats enough,,,, those four were very effective aircraft, but what I think is funny is that the Air Force still won't admit that they were wrong and buy F-18s

Various bombers from the U.S., Germany and Russia. A few of them have kills in the 100s of thousands. Some more have killed 10s of thousands. Whole cities have been wiped out by bombers and now whole countries can be.

Let's see... high speed, huge weapons load, long range,
high altitude, so advanced even the pilots trained on it had trouble using it to it's fullest capability, so fast it couldn't be shot down by any weapon of it's time (including missles)
and don't forget wild looking.
B-58 Hustler - look it up!

Do you ever get answer like, from people saying "why do you focus on which way to kill people? Don't you have better things to do??"
You're right.....did Saddam need to be killed?
Did he have weapons of mass destruction hidden in his ass* ?
Are the americans justifying their stay in any way? A part from the need for money...in the form of black gold?

P-51 no doubt. It served as a tank buster, air to air fighter, and saved more lives on bombing missions than any other plane. It was reliable, fast, and armed to the teeth.
