If someone that don't need blood thinning medication was given an over dose of it will it kill them and will their blood thicken back up by itself? The over dose was given to an adult that weighs about 115 - 120 pounds. Need help A.S.A.P.

I should have added that it is my sister's boyfriend and she is at the hospital with him but she isn't getting any answers from the doctor and they won't let her see him yet so that's why i am on here asking the question. If i could be with her i would be but i live on the other side of the world.

A lot depends on what the drug was and how much he took.
The big danger with the blood thinners will be bleeding internal and external. If he really took a lot it is very serious as a simple burse can cause uncontrolled bleeding.

Having had my blood thinned as part of treatment for a stroke years ago, I can tell you that the blood will thicken back up but it takes a very very long time.

Depending on if the overdose was accidental or intentional I would also suggest getting some professional help for dealing with what caused him to take the drugs in the first place.

You may or may not believe in Our Creator but for what it is worth I’ll add a prayer for you and your family with the hope that all will turn out ok.

I don't know how much of a overdose he got! But I take blood thinner, I have 3 stints, and will always need to take the thinner! But no it should not hurt him, unless he has a bad cut or something like that that will let him bleed out, but the thinner by it's self won't kill him! Good Luck!

Anyone who has a suspected overdose of a blood thinning medication needs medical attention immediately.
Get this person to the hospital NOW instead of waiting for answers from total strangers if you suspect that they have overdosed.

Take them to a hospital. Don't sit on the computer waiting for answers.

i don't think it will kill them, but you should definitely contact the poison control center. it might just be a thing of waiting it out to make sure the person is ok or you may have to take them to the ER. good luck.

it is possible that it could cause internal bleeding
I am sure the docs are giving him something to counteract the medication error.
