Hello, I remember when my sisters were that age and still believed in Santa.
Do you have any relatives that would lend you money, I mean you dont need to buy an expensive gift, you can also write her a letter (it would be from Santa of course) telling her that he couldnt bring her a lot of toys because there are many more children out there that want toys too.
Good luck.

I don't know what Country you live in, but in Canada we have several great Charities that help people in your situation. I donate at least one gift per year. You may have to do some research to see what they have in your city/state.
You can ask relatives for assistance, perhaps they'll help provide some gifts from 'Santa'.
You could have a garage sale, or sell some unwanted/extra stuff around the house. Just don't get rid of anything that has sentimental value, you'll regret it. Clothes that you don't use, that are in good shape can be brought to a consignment store.
Make use of your local foodbank. (Just remember to donate if/when your in a better financial position.)
If you have a bunch of bottles (with deposits) laying about, bring them in. You'd be suprised how much that can add up too. You can also ask neighbours/friends/family if you can drop by and pick up thier empties to help out. (if you have time)
Is there anyway you can fit in a part-time job right now? Most stores are looking for extra staff to fill the xmas rush. Even better, get a job at a toy/department store and get paid AND reap the discount.
Good luck, I hope everything works out alright.

Talk to her teacher or counselor. There are Angel Trees everywhere here, and one of the ways to get on the list is to be nominated by the child's teacher.
Talk to a local minister, asking if he or she knows of any charities or options that you would qualify for.
Shop in the clearance aisle at Walmart, or hit stores like The Dollar General or Big Lots (close-out stores). They both have a toy section, and are really cheap.
If you typically do a gift exchange with family, ask that instead of getting you anything, they help you have Santa toys for your daughter. My mom is doing this, because my husband and I just separated, and I don't have a big paycheck. She had already bought my kids a portable DVD player for the car, and two movies, but she's just giving them the movies and letting me use the main gift for Santa.
Pray. Seriously. Two Christmases ago, we were just really really REALLY broke, and were afraid we wouldn't be able to do Christmas gifts with our boys. We started praying for SOME way to be able to do something for them, and opportunities just presented themselves. It wasn't much, but we were at least able to do SOMETHING.
God bless. I know it's an awful situation to be in. Just examine every angle, and hopefully, something will help.

I'm not sure if you're in the states or not... but the Marine Corp does Toys for Tots every year. You show up and they'll give you a toy for your child's age range. check in your local paper.
Also, I would let other family members know. This is a time when family should come together and hopefully help you out.

Follow the instructions to request a toy. Talk to local Christian Charities they often have similar programs for families in need.
