I would rather say what the bible states about its status, than my own thoughts, as I am wrong often about all sorts of things, but I know the bible is correct due to its prophecies.
The bible states that in the last days that many will fall away and there will be very few holding on to true faith in the word. It will still be around at the time of the end, and yet how many
claim to follow the bible, yet when their doctrines are tested they are found to be traditions man has added and claimed as gods word.
Heaven going upon death is a false doctrine read ecc 9 v 5 -10....states clearly that when man dies he has no more thought, reward etc.
trinity doctrine is false and with only about 5 min research this is shown to be false both in the bible and in any encyclopedia...read about the council of nicea, and Constantine proposing the idea.
These are just two examples, and they knock out about 90% of the religions of today by showing that they have false teachings.
Jesus didn't join the religious groups of his day due to thier false teachings, he went as far as to say that they were worshiping in vain, and since he is used as our example shouldn't we do the same? Read Matt chapter 15.

If, by religion, you mean, Christianity, then it will last until the end of time. Christianity is simply believing and obeying the truth, specifically, the truth of the word of God and the gospel of Christ. God Himself said that both heaven and earth will pass away, but that His word would never pass away. Christianity is not sustained by human beings, but by God Himself, as He is ever working to perpetually spread the gospel and save souls, even amongst today's most vehement and pervasive spiritual attacks. God's word, and His people, will exist far beyond this century, but forever. Praise God forever, amen.

Childhood indoctrination is the only reason religion persists.

A religion lasts as long as there are believers. With Christians disagreeing over details they could tear their religion apart even more if their not careful.

My religion is truth. Truth will always be there whether people chose to see it or not. Even if the whole world denied truth eventually someone would look up and say hey, this is truth. At least that is what happened to me.
Good Luck.

im Christian, how long has this religion lasted already, if we teach our children to live as christians, and they teach theirs, and so on, our faith will last a lot longer than just another century.

After 2012, I doubt many people will worry about what happens when they die, the issue will be to survive and unite as a world again.
