The food is decent and the latrines will be spotless. If you're going to bootcamp you'll be cleaning them. And trust me, it won't be a half-@ssed job. At least not after the first time.

Ha ha,just talked to someone who was in the Navy yesterday.

Well in the Navy, things aren't as bad as they are in the army.
They are VERY sanitary, but as it is the military, there is no time for an aristocrat that will be disgusted if there is a tiny spot on the toilet.

There is a variety of food,it won't be 5 star food but it will keep one alive.Food will always be a problem for me if I chose that path,as I am vegetarian.

Anyhow,as the man I was talking to said:

"In a bootcamp,it is primarily pshycological training thats involved, first they strip you of your personality and your needs, and reform you and everyone as a group,so that everyone knows they can depend on each other, you know you will die for the guy next to you,and he will do the same".

The most important thing I learned was,you don't have to be in perfect shape, when it comes to training in the navy.In the beginning you don't have to be in perfect shape, but if you are,it would help a lot.The most certain thing is,you will be a lot stronger then you were before joining.

Well, I went through some training on a Naval Installation, and the food wasn't really that bad.

For bootcamp, even if it isn't the best thing, it is the only thing you have to eat and you make damn sure to eat as much of it as fast as you can. You can't really taste it because you don't have that luxury in boot camp. You just shovel food into your mouth.

Latrines, heads, bathrooms, etc. Apparently all military services are the same on this one, are all clean and immaculate. Just like in Full Metal Jacket when they are "cleaning the head", they make sure not to leave a spot. Your TI, Drill Sgt, DI, RDC will make sure that there isn't a speck of anything, anywhere. So, yeah, they are clean and sanitary.

My husband said the food was pretty good and the bathrooms were very clean because the guys going through bootcamp had to clean them and then they were inspected. If they weren't clean enough they had to be cleaned all over again.

The food is very good. The heads and shower spaces are immaculate because you will be part of the force which keeps them immaculate. The Navy doesn't have room service!

Bring lots of W/C paper and a small shovel to dig your own crap-hole but don't get caught doing it in the commanding officers flower beds.

The food, well lets say you will long for all the junk food you used to stuff in your face when you were in civilian street, the hunger pains will keep you awake at night bring a kit-bag or two of chocolate bars, to stave off the hunger.

Cannibalism has been known to occur on some Navy Boot Camps but its hushed up very quickly. Just take care if any Marines start drooling looking at you in your P.T. gear!!!

EDIT: COME-ON GUYS I was joking about the Marines!!!

The food is pretty good considering the quantity they have to make everyday.

The "HEADS" are as sanitary as you make them! You will be the one cleaning them!
