They usually print out on the receipt paper a temporary "card" you can use with a barcode or account number and your card will come in the mail a week or so later.

If you're credit is accepted, they'll give you the use of the credit right there and mail you the card with the purchase on the balance. If you're turned down, (they won't tell you) they'll just tell you you'll get an answer in the mail.

I believe you will be able to apply your purchase to your account right then and there, but you will get your actual card in the mail.

They usually give you a temp and mail you a regular card......but interest rates on cards like that are usually pretty high, around 23%.

it can work either way, but mostly, now, they give you the card ( or a temp card) so you can take advantage of sales that day.
