Here is our family recipe for Deviled Eggs. This recipe may seem strange, but I was writing down the ingredients while my MIL was making the deviled eggs. She never wrote down any of her recipes, so when I wanted this one, it was the only way to get it. Nothing was truly measured, which is why it is... this many shakes, that many shakes... but these eggs are wonderful! Enjoy.
Deviled Eggs
2 dozen hard boiled eggs - Cut in half and lightly mash yokes
24 shakes of Seasoned Salt - shake a little heavier than you would put it on your steak
13 shakes of Garlic Salt - same type of shakes as above
10 shakes of Mrs. Dash - mix and mash the yokes with the seasonings
1 tsp. of Salt
Pepper - out of the tin, squeeze the tin 18 times, otherwise pepper to taste
Stir and mash yokes some more
3 squirts of prepared mustard (or about 1 tbsp.)
Mash yokes well
1 good tbsp. Thousand Island dressing
1-1/2 tbsp. steak sauce or Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp. plus a dash of Beau Monde
½ tsp. plus a dash of of Mei Yen
3 tbsp. pickle relish
Mix together well
Add 6 tbsp. of Mayonnaise
Stir together well and taste, salt and pepper to taste
I wrote this down as she did it, counting shakes and squirts... after all was done we added one more tsp. of mustard and 2 more tbsp. of mayo., but it's up to you... per your taste and desired texture.

Texas poppers
1)get 6 - 12 jalapeno peppers and cut a slit from the stem to the tip of the pepper
2)then with a small spoon dig out the veins and seeds of the pepper. dont worry if the you open up the slit a little bit.(NOTE: You might want to wear gloves if you're not used to dealing with hot peppers)
3) after cleaning out the peppers fill in the pepper with your choice of either cream cheese or cheddar or whatever cheese you like.
4) get a pack of bacon and wrap each pepper with a slice of bacon. Try to cover as much of the pepper as possible with that one slice
5)then put a toothpick thru the bacon and pepper so it holds everything intact.
Cook carefully over grill as the grease will make the fire flame up or cook in a baking dish that will have room to hold dripping grease in the oven either way cook til the bacon is done. Let rest about 5 minutes then serve make as many as u want I only recommended 6 to 12 for your first time if you're not a regular pepper eater. We have these every big game and every cookout. They're the best. and mix the filling to your taste sometimes I chop cooked shrimp and mix it with herbs and the cream cheese and fill the pepper. Hop you like it.

Not really an appetizer, but OMG its so good.
Homemade Creamed Corn
16oz FROZEN CORN (much better texture than canned)
1 - 8oz Block of cream cheese
1/2 c heavy cream
1/2 c butter or margarine
1 tsp sugar
salt and pepper to taste
pour corn into an oven safe dish
pour heavy cream over it
cut the cream cheese into small chunks and lay on top of corn, add butter and sugar (you don't have to mix it)
put it in the oven at 350 until cream cheese starts to melt. pull it out mix it so everything is well blended, and stick it back in the oven for about 10 more minutes or until hot
pull out and stir again to mix thoroughly
serve and try not to eat the entire dish...
this is so much better than any dessert homemade or store bought.....
this is the best stuff in the world... even people who don't like creamed corn love this stuff,
