The pride of man makes one dependent on there own thoughts........ in this,.....it will keep the person from seeing and working in the fullness of the virtuous attributes as you mentioned above.

I like your question because you don't mention religion. Religion has nothing to do with GOD however, light, goodness, love, truth and spiritual wisdom have everything to do with GOD. Jesus is the Son of GOD and HE is the Light. All that is good is of
GOD. GOD is love and truth. When you accept that GOD is a living GOD and creator of all things and accept that Jesus is HIS only begotten Son who died for our sins and is resurrected then you have spiritual wisdom. If you have been baptized and confirmed and have received the Holy Spirit as a constant companion and remain worthy, you are guided, protected and blessed by GOD's promises. GOD uses his Holy Spirit to communicate with our spirit. What a wonderful gift. I can't imagine why anyone would reject light, goodness, love, truth, and spiritual wisdom.

Because their religion told them to?
The problem with pretty much all religions is that after awhile the members of that religion forget all the the peace and love stuff and start focusing on the things that have been put on it that were never intended to be there in the first place.
1. A loving and merciful god will send you to a place of eternal torment if you don't believe in its intangible self.
2. If you are not part of x religion you deserve to die.
3. If you are not part of x ethnicity you deserve to die.
4. If you are homosexual you deserve to die.
5. If you are not male you deserve to die.
On and on and on. Religions will get on people about things they can't do anything about, or about life choices that don't really affect other people.
Religions have got to stop harping on people for things that really don't affect others, especially when the religious laws are applied to people outside that religion.
Eating pork should be the same if you are an Atheist, a Jew, a Christian, or a Muslim. It was a set tradition for a set time, it makes no sense that it should continue beyond that.
However, rape, murder, hypocrisy, rudeness, etc. All of those are things that are universal, or should be, and if people are to be judged they should be judged by a single standard on those issues. A standard that has absolutes, but does not exclude life choices that are made that will not affect others who are willingly involved.

When some one rejecting, indirectly s/he is accepting. It's like when a pendulum is moving to left, it's gaining momentum for right side.
Both acceptance and rejection are complimentary (not opposite) to each other. When rejection is not there , acceptance will not exist. Day is because of night and vice versa.

Taking you at face value and leaving aside religion for a minute, there are many reasons why someone might do that: mood disorder, behavioral disorder, mental illness, or certain medical conditions could all be reasons why someone would do as you suggest.
What is the range of responses from your religion?
Let me guess: "You're either with us or against us"?
The trouble with such myopic statements is that they miss the complexity of life. Of course, they do so on purpose...

Just because people do not live the way you want them to live, does not make them void of light, goodness, love, truth and wisdom (spiritual or non).

It's not wisdom if it makes no sense. People have to find a way to make sense of the world that makes sense to them. It has to feel right, it's an individual thing and not every belief system works for every individual.

I assume you mean religion.... or more to the point, your god. Because all that junk is hooey. I'm a good person, I love others and they love me, I'm honest and I carry more wisdom than someone who says It just is because God wanted it that way.

The Bible says it is because they are spiritually blind to the truth. When we make wrong choices for long enough, we sear our conscience and don't know what is wisdom any more.

That's what Christians ask of Atheists and Atheists ask of Muslims and Muslims ask of Hindus and Hindus ask of Buddhists.
No one likes to be approached and told what they believe is wrong.
No one has a monopoly on goodness and truth. No one can possibly know the whole truth. If you believe you know everything then you've already fallen victim to pride and arrogance.
