Yes dear Harv., good grammar and linguistic skills will help you in life to succeed. But what about giving fair treatment to someone who is not a Caucasian?

Talking about aboriginals. Did you mean that very dying (or should i use words like killed or crushed)and suffering race in their own country? Members of their race are difficult to find in the cities like Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane etc.

And talking about Indians did you mean one of them who recently detained under terrorism laws and when Howard government failed to prove anything bluntly refuse to apologize?

Until recently Australia had white Australia policy but now when it faces sever work force shortage accepting Indians, Chinese and all other non-whites with both arms!

You would be happy to know that I am also an Indian and after living in Australia for several years returned to India because I was fed of racist Australia and also my over crowded country happens to be second fastest growing country in the world.

Well we Indians and others from other countries have our own countries. But what about Aboriginals? Where would they go? I feel really sorry about them.

Feel pretty sickened by the some of the racist attitudes expressed among these answers.
I've heard it said in the past that racist attitudes are pretty rife in Australia. In the UK they have been gradually dwindling (which is a good thing) untill 9/11, which suddenly gave the racists something to shout about and point at. The actions of a few sick people who called themselves "muslims" have ruined things for genuine muslims all over the world, who are now more victimised than ever here in the UK because some idiots can't tell the difference between a typical, peace-loving muslim and a terrorist. Which can only lead to tension and further conflict.

There are a large number of ethnicities mixed together here in the UK. I've grown up amongst it and its easy to see that there are no real diferences: people are just people.
Some bigots don't seem to agree.

No there are not.
My Brother lives 30 kl out of Burke and his next door neighbors are Red Indians.
They are a family of 7 and are very well liked in the area.
His sister lives in Forbes with her family of 3.
They tell me they are the only Red Indians they know of in Australia.
If we had more Red Indians as the Wolfs Australia would be a better place, and they would be most welcomed in Australia.

I actually found lots of Indians in Melbourne - not sure about other places. One friend even told me that more than half of the accounting students in Central Queensland Uni in town were from India. I guess it might be due to the relatively loose immigration policy in Australia. I met one India guy while in uni and he was working for a 7-11 store. International students were only allowed to work 20 hours per week but he was doing 5 night shifts per week. I said that might get him into trouble. But he didn't seem to care because if he got sent home he could just lodge another application and come back again. In addition, Indians are quite good at IT and engineering, which allow them to immigrate to Australia pretty easily.

There are too many Indians telephoning Australia, but that is a different issue.

One day all the people of the world will be sort of coffee coloured and then what will racists do? Think about it, it is inevitable. The question should be about the number of people Australia can support, and nothing else.

does the education system in australia completely fail? honey, proper grammar is essential to your life's successes.

&&no. they're are too many indians in india. the ones in australia are probably just trying to escape from the over-crowding of their home country.

unless you're talking about indigenous australians (i.e.- native australians.)

then the answer is definitely no.

No, there ARE too many racists in Australia (even if you are the only one). I like all the Indians I know, including my lovely next-door neighbours, who would do anything to help me.
