It just dawned on me maybe the rest of American states don't have an "illegal" problem and it's just the ones on the borders or the ones with the big airports where the visa jumpers jump off? So do you think we have a problem?

Thanks Sigy, I am wondering why the media has jumped on the band wagon as of late, it's like even CNN and the more liberal ones are in a feeding frenzy, which started a while back. Just seems funny that all of the sudden a year or so ago it became national news, when it's been going on for decades.

Could be the 3 million visa umpers per year that fly in and hide after the expiration or it could be the fact that 1 in 7 caught at the southern border are from a terror sponsoring nation ( on the State Department list). My point is that it's not like it just started in the last couple of years.

No, I don't live in a border state.
I live in Oklahoma and we have much less of an illegal alien problem since the passage of HB. 1804. The law went into effect on November 1st, but before it even went into effect over 25,000 illegal aliens left our state.

What problem? Ever wonder why Americans are migrating from the interior to the border and from the small to big cities?

There are illegals everywhere in the US including AK and HI.

There is a higher % of illegals in the population in the southwest than in the US as a whole of course. And I believe that it is true that the strongest negative effects of illegal immigration are felt there with the competition for low wage jobs and cost of providing social services including schooling.

There are illegals in the northeast and they generally have a low profile and don't get much attention. For example there are illegal Mexican communities in cities like Washington D.C and Baltimore and Philladelphia that do not have historic Chicano communities.

So I think that illegal immigration has been more positive than negative to the US but the visible negative effects are probably most concentrated in the southwestern states and the positive effects are distributed more widely across the US.

Yeah,we got 37 border states if you include all the coastlines as well. When we get done with a fence that long we'll get around to those pesky visas at the airports. Got any more big ideas?
