And what about the poor players, don't you think they need a rest. They scrimp and save all year long. give them a chance for a week away at Blackpool!

I think something along those lines has already been discussed by 4 of the 5 countries (England were still under the arrogant misconception that they were going to Euro '08 and didn't take part). Whether or not they do (probably still think they are too good for the rest!), I hope the competition goes ahead as it will be a huge boost for all the nations involved and could be a great success if properly organized.

because England would make an excuse about how Hampden park was not a good playing surface and that's how the Scots beat them 4-1 !
would love to hear motsy doing commentary on that game if it happened!

because outside of the Scotland v England there did not seem to be much interest going by some of the attendances
that was why the English FA pulled the plug on it

Why should England benefit when they have been asked several times and said no. It may be the cream fixture as everyone would like to see England humiliated time and time again, but as the FA broke their backs while implanting their heads into their rectal passages, I can't see why we should help them with lost revenue.

SUPPORTERS OF THESE NATIONS ARE ACTUALLY CLAMOURING FOR THIS TOURNAMENT TO KEEP THEIR RESPECTIVE NATIONAL TEAMS COMPETITIVE AFTER MISSING OUT ON THE EUROS. WHO KNOWS, THE HOME INTERNATIONALS MAY MAKE A COMEBACK WITH ANOTHER NAME.

Not a chance. Why should Northern Ireland give up it's title of British Champions for a one off event that the Scots scuppered in the first place?
What would be gained?
