My Father is in a postion where he can get a new truck every two years(or less). He's a Chevy Truck guy. That's all he's ever had. He drives the crap out of them, pays them off within the loan time, and gets a new one. Before he trades the old one in he asks if we would like it. "We" being my grown self and husband. Sometimes we're between cars or financially not well and we say yes, sometimes we say, "No thanks, we're good." But, when we're financially not well and take him up on the offer, we kind of have to explain (to friends and family that know we're too poor to afford it) that my Dad gave us the truck. Then they assume that my Dad is gazziloinaire and we're spoiled. We're lucky to have such help. My Dad gives us enough to do something but not enough to do NOTHING. I don't know why it is so hard for some people to understand the difference between being spoiled and Parents giving their young a fair chance at life.

Let me put it this way. He is your dad and there is nothing wrong with him wanting to give you something.
I do not think you are spoiled at all. My parents tried to help us out too because they loved us.
I feel being spoiled is someone that does not appreciate what their parents do for them.
You know taking and not caring. You do not sound like that type of a person to me at all.

Honestly, it's no one else's business how you obtained your vehicle.

If people are questioning or scoffing at the idea, they're jealous because maybe they don't have a well off relative to do that for them.

You sound grateful to your father for what he has done for you - that is what's important.

I don't think that makes you spoiled. If he gave you one every 3 months then I might think you're spoiled

don't worry about others saying your spoiled. if you appreciate it and realize you're lucky, then leave it at that.

if anything, just leave this out of conversations to avoid appearing like you're flaunting your dad's old car.

It is none of anyone else's business how you got the truck or your relationship with your parents. Don't worry about them. They don't pay your bills!!!! They are just nosy!!
